3/5/2024 10:36am I thought that was excellent. Good views of the riding, good commentary (I laughed when they knew the name of the dog trailside!), no awkward filler, the portraits of the riders without helmets at start of every run. I was trying to enjoy it more than analyze it so didn't have a stopwatch or anything, but of a 2:10-3:00 race run time it felt like half was shown. If a rider lost of gained time on a split it didn't seem mysterious. This one might be contentious, but I think the slower track conditions made it easier to watch, too...

3/5/2024 10:30am DHSE is booming! Even spawning bikes with Frameworks and Southern Gravity. It's like the DH glory days of the 90's are returning.

3/5/2024 10:10am Not sure why you thought you needed to post that. This is tech rumors, I can't be the only one who doesn't care to talk about other peoples relationships. Back to rumors please?

3/4/2024 10:54am So hearing that, I'm curious why you ride mountain bikes instead of trail running or hiking? That same argument has been used to severely limit access for bicycles here in Boulder since the 90s.

3/4/2024 10:53am Definitely going to take a look at them. Hard to say what all will really be possible until can see what the pad retract numbers are. There are some specific things I want to try that could work out quite well knock on wood.

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic What is the stiffest casing, what is the most pinch resistant tire?
3/4/2024 10:41am I'm only 190 pounds but like the OP I've always been hard on rear tires and wheels, and the only setup that's worked for me is Maxxis DH casings with Cushcore Pro in the rear. The new Schwalbe or Michelin DH casings are the stiffest casings money can buy, even heavier and tougher than a Maxxis DH casing, but as others have said those tires only come in the softest slowest rolling rubber compound. Michelin does have the "bike park" DH tires which have a faster rolling rubber, but as someone else said they don't have the same robust DH...

But I use my rear brake more than my front, so I figured if the Maven's are the most powerful brake ever, now is the time to finally try the reverse rotor size concept. Haven't ridden it yet, but I'll post my findings somewhere later this year after I spend some time on the setup.

3/4/2024 7:58am red bull cerro abajo vid below (it's also on our homepage, but it's a super fun watch). the interesting part to me was watching live during the last handful of riders and between english- and spanish-speaking broadcasts on youtube there were upwards of 30-35k people watching at that moment. that seems like a massive number for a race without a stacked roster. the english version of the cerro abajo has 150k views after being up for 4 hours. to compare (and i know it's a finals vs semi-finals but...) MSA world cup semi-finals live on youtube has 118k views and...

2/29/2024 10:02am The gopro thing is a big deal because people thought it would stop the rotation of your head when you are sliding on the ground and cause a neck injury. What I assume Spomer is referring to is when you get ejected and the first thing that hits the ground is that knob. Kinda like if your wearing a baseball hat and someone hits you square on the top of the head on the little button. How do i make this fuckin image smaller.. Jesus.
