My 1st MTB was a brand new 1987 GT Avalanche Elite (the bike I'm on in my profile pic) that cost me $680 and I had to finance most of it at over 10% interest as a dumb 18yr old dude. I loved that bike and just recently donated it to a good home. GT will always have a special place in my heart and I hope they can return at some point in time.

You know how rich dorks move into the cool neighborhood and then start complaining about the nightclub’s noise and the neighborhood starts sucking and becomes lame and they’re all looking around like what? That’s what this feels like. Union embodied the passion that truly drives the sport. Their whole thing was to help, not to earn. Pricing them out is not better for anyone.

Because unlike road cycling, historical there's no rider movement in MTB during the "transfer window". New teams are not finalised until January 15th each year. Therefore most riders contracts (along with marketing commitments) run until Dec 31st or even first week of Jan. So there's your answer

I'll once again do my semi annual dad voice "this thread is for fun" posts. This isn't the 2025 team facts thread so let people have fun with it and don't be a dick. If someone wants to allude and drop bread crumbs through the season, let them and have fun with it. Pry, guess, whatever. Just don't call them out like they hurt you when they're trying to participate and haven't done anything wrong.
