XO transmission setup with X01 shifter and derailleur for over a year has been the most reliable system I've ever used. requires a slight modification on the UDH so the small cog doesn't rub and works best with quick single shifts (like an e-bike) as that's what the chain and cassette are optimized for.

Few thoughts, since I keep coming back to this thread, typing something, then deleting it. This is as much self-therapy as anything else. To start, It goes without saying, but this wasn’t the update I was hoping for. I’m praying for a miracle for Adolf. It’s gut-wrenching reading the update after watching everything unfold live. We’ll never remove risk from mountain biking, or from cycling in general. People die on two wheels every day, across every discipline. It’s awful. The world can be cruel in that way. What makes this one especially hard is how preventable it feels. It pokes...

Just my observation but I live in western Canada and can’t think of the last time I saw an Intense in the wild. This includes plenty of time in Whistler, Squamish, etc. I assume they sell more in the US but can’t comment. Makes me wonder if the race team is worth their investment.

So it looks like I blew my Telum in Whistler over closing weekend. Didn't leak oil or anything, and there was still a difference between climb and descend positions, but was super clunky and noisy at the top end. Still rode it through the weekend, but now it's in the shop getting serviced. I'll give an update when they can tell me what went sideways. I'm going to (kind of) blame myself for this one though as I had a big summer on the bike (Kamloops trip to start the season, Legacy bike park x2, France for two weeks of...

It's a refreshing change when they let the person on the marketing team who actually understands mountain biking handle the mountain bike aspect of a "lifestyle" vehicle ad. And likely in this case they don't just understand it; they're deep in the weeds. Who outside of the sport has heard of Frameworks? Edit: because the presentation of the photo on Instagram offended me so much:

Monster is usually pretty good at sticking by their athletes and supporting them so my fingers are crossed that they stand by him and the same for all his other sponsors. Man, this is sad but sadly I knew when I saw the crash live that this was going to be a very serious injury. Wishing Adolf all the best...

Well this is really gonna fire up the narrative around the direction Rampage is heading but, well, it aint the first time. Let's just hope he can recover similarly to Paul Bas. It's kinda sad Paul Bas finally re-visited Rampage on the 10th anniversary of his crash, and this is what he had to witness. He had said he left the event venue after seeing what happened to Emil. I can't imagine how he felt being stoked for everyone and the riding and having a positive personal experience being back there after so long. And what emotions he may have...

Oh no, what we all feared... I just hope he can continue to be as mentally strong as he's always been. Wish him nothing but the best in this recovery.

Everybody does this every year. They get new bikes from their sponsors, so they sell their old ones. Can we stop posting every time a pro sells a bike? It literally just means it's the end off the year.

My guess is that NOBL isn't footing the billl. Evil is getting the rims (maybe at a discount) to replace the loopholes as needed. NOBL gets good press at helping to support the wheels, Evil has a partner to help support, and long term NOBL I am guessing becomes an OE partner for EVIL as well. Really doubt that NOBL is warrantying rims without being reimbursed in some way.

Santa Cruz - quality, Warranty, free bearings for "life". My Hightower v3 is probably hands down the best quality made bike ive ever owned. Transition - Warranty, customer service is like no other. super fun and playful bikes. Norco - Canadian brand, I am biased. grew up riding norcos.

I’ve long argued that unlocking more money in racing depends on bringing in more non-endemic,or at least semi-non-endemic, sponsors. Think Frameworks x WD-40. The challenge is that I cross paths with a lot of marketers, and its incredibly hard to justify putting millions into such a niche sport when that same budget could go into Meta or YouTube ads. With digital, you get instant analytics, optimization tools, and far less career risk. You can still reach the same demographic, but in a way that’s more measurable and scalable...with no tough conversations with the boss (really, ever). At the end of...
