11/12/2025 4:43am I think for those not as in tune with skateboarding they're kinda missing... The context. Phelps is the type of asshole that people tend to refer as "our asshole". He was not 'nice' and he was never attempting to mislead people into thinking so. Quite the opposite. He made it as known as possible that he is polarizing, and that skateboarding itself is polarizing. THAT SAID... He wasn't quite 'going out of his way' to specifically ruin someone's day. He is not evil. He is basically the end game level of core lord. The absolute apotheosis of lot lizard. He's...

11/7/2025 10:19am Interesting news from I9 following the We Are One acquisition, they named We Are One's founder Dustin Adams CEO of the whole company. I say "interesting" because it's not unusual for the management team of the acquired entity to be more or less dismantled as the smaller structure is absorbed into the acquiring one. Sounds like Dustin is the right man for the job at hand! ------------------------------------------------- November 6, 2025 - Asheville, NC DUSTIN ADAMS JOINS INDUSTRY NINE AS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER New leadership appointment set to drive the future of Industry Nine’s global business strategy Industry Nine’s founder...

11/6/2025 8:20am Just a heads up, Fox Factory and GoPro both report results tonight. I'll do my best to aggregate results, listen to conference calls (at least with Fox) and put a little post together. Cheers!

11/6/2025 8:17am Tippie isn’t competitive, and you’re not really hiring him to ride. He's basically a marketing ambassador. You aren’t paying him to even ride, really. He has a skill set that’s beyond riding and something that most people, regardless of their riding ability, don’t have. He’s not really a “modern” influencer, because social media isn’t his medium, but a brand would basically “sponsor” him in the same way as an influencer, not as a racer/freerider. You’re paying for the personality and story, not the talent.

11/5/2025 1:05pm Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

11/4/2025 2:33pm I suppose we can't be everyone's cup of tea - our goal is to make the best bikes we possibly can & yes, that price is competitive. Thanks!

11/4/2025 2:31pm Tippie was in NWA quite a bit over the last couple of years as part of YT events. Everything said on that writeup is true. He's unflagging in his positivity and stoke. He includes everyone and interact with everyone from the kookiest kid to the most seasoned pro. He's almost uncomfortably positive and full of stoke at times, but a brand really couldn't ask for a better ambassador. I hope he lands somewhere. Dude is a legend, and his story of climbing out of the dark depths of addiction is inspirational.

11/4/2025 7:52am The things YT and Canyon are doing are exactly what the rest of the industry is doing, just without the "middle man" of a local bike shop. They are cutting costs on the production side, making a cheap bike that looks high end and can be marketed as such, but the main goal of which is to achieve a high profit margin at a price point that is hard to refuse for the average customer. If anything, I think they offer some of the lowest value on the market: their prices may be enticing — borderline disruptive — but when...

11/4/2025 2:05am Speaking of Canyon, is their enduro program done? Jesse Melamed was a team of one this year and racing a DH bike for fun at the end of the season. Anyone know what Jesse is doing in 2026?

11/1/2025 5:17pm Is anyone surprised by this? From what I can tell the parent company isn't emerging out of bankruptcy protections and the creditors are liquidating assets (including goat heads). Maybe the hope is the creditors are able to liquidate enough to make them whole, and the equity holders are given back the company? This doesn't seem likely. This is why Markus needed investors, to effectively buy the company out of bankruptcy. TL;DR - The parent is done, hence every regional distributorship is also done. Am I missing something?

10/31/2025 2:22am I think just from the people I know that ride an ebike the majority of the time, when they get back on a regular bike they say that its like riding on flat tires. Or riding through sand. And they forgot how much more effort it takes on a regular bike. Not sure how that equates to fitness but it seems to have an effect on strength. No doubt its still gotta keep you stronger and more fit than just sitting on the couch though. I think Its like what you were saying about how it depends on the way...
