Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

I think it will be a very interesting off-season. Many riders who were unlucky this season will probably stay on the track. The new UCI rules are not good for the majority of riders, especially since there is no feeder series. I assume that riders ranked below 22nd will have a very difficult time. Greenland, Hatton, Hart, Wilson are some of the ones I'm worried about. Wilson has a team, just like Gwin. But both riding and managing seem difficult to me today. Kerr is good, but his injury has ruined his season. There will be a big shake-up and...

I do think that it is ok, to keep the competition alive, and having a "small" distance in points between 1st and the rest is healthy for the overall. And I also think that the guys that does not qualify should get some points, most of those are not in big teams, and do an effort to be there, some recognition would be good.

I think points are counted on a revolving calendar. Last years points are good for 12 months....so rider started the season with 300 pts and as we move through the year the points from last year drop off when they reach 12 months. \ There will certainly be some guys that will need to go race some national level UCI races in order to keep them / their team in points in order to qualify for next season. Anyone not keeping an eye on that now will be in a mad scramble come fall time to go race obscure races...
