Very badly. Makes all imported frames and parts more expensive, passes on those costs to consumers. Frames and parts in the country are already discounted to sell, meaning they won't be ordering any more at a 10%+ increased price as they can't already move the cheaper ones. A universal tariff is a horrendous economic policy

I can’t speak for the Uberbike fins but when I was guiding in the Alps my finned Shimano pads (sintered) would last at least twice as long as the standard. Prefomance was the same otherwise but the longevity hurt my wallet less despite the higher initial cost

totally agree. bikes are just damn good these days. gone are the days where companies could get away with putting out stuff that was garbage on day 1, thankfully. the last product I can think of offhand that was totally DOA was the Crank Bros Kronolog dropper.

Not to nit-pick but just want to point out that what Neko and Frameworks are doing isn't some unique "drop" model, its literally how every company using an OEM supplier works, they just inform you of quantities beforehand. Unless you pay an OEM for a an entire production line, they will make/assemble whatever quantity you ask for in batches, and then re-tool that line to make someone else's product. So for instance, Transition get their frames welded by Genie (I believe), they will make lets say 1k frames, then that line will be re-tooled and make 1k frame for, lets...
