That's all good and well but lets face some facts here - Cube bikes are junk (I worked closely with the brand at a distribution level), the kinematics were average at best and the frame failure rate we saw was out of control, more than 50% of carbon bikes sold came back with cracked frames and they were horrendously slow with turnaround time on replacement frames, always looking for excuses. Saracen is a walmart/whatever brand so no matter the caliber of the rider you'll never get results riding a piece of crap down the hill. Personality or not, Danny Hart...

If you are a sponsor and you have a suspicion that racing might get more difficult to view in the future than investing is riders who can produce their own content seems like a logical direction.

Gwinn’s mechanic just posted this story. Maybe Gwinn doing his own thing just with Intense frames? I can’t imagine John would buy a new Intense e-bike if he was going to be wrenching on different frames for Gwinn next season. Or maybe I’m reading his comment the wrong way. Still seems strange he promote a bike they woollens be using in a week.

Well according to Josh Carlson there are millions of new viewers. I'm not sure what he was smoking when he made that claim though. In WB/Discovery's defence, we would never have had that "She said f*cking" moment without their involvement. Without doubt the highlight of the year as far as the interviews/commentary was concerned. Although getting Tahnee's name wrong and asking Nina if she'd be wearing the rainbow stripes in the bar that night both deserve honourable mentions.

similar to what @Fresh Bike Service, Inc. says, purely based on the countless anecdotal cases i've heard of people not tuning into 2023 live race footage, i'd be skeptical of live viewing numbers from 2023 matching 2022 and earlier. My understanding was also that the MS Mondraker setup was closer to a privateer setup than a factory team. I seem to recall Jacob saying he just got a bike and transport. I specifically remember Brook complaining about the short stem that Mondraker were pushing a few years ago, and that it took him half a season to realise he needed a standard 50mm. But other than that, he seemed to love the bike. That could be wrong, but then again so is 99% of the thread.
