I agree with you. What a fuckin waste. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first year and even paid to watch. Last year I pirated it out of spite and will continue to do so until they actually make a positive impact on the sport.

I think the thing that makes people suspicious of WBD and UCI is that WBD and UCI keep doing suspicious things (including well-documented meetings with certain team managers but not all team managers and forcing them into NDAs as tight as not revealing anything even to athletes on their own teams in order to be in those meetings). Entertainment execs, promoters, and UCI bureaucrats will absolutely do the right thing. Definitely! I love the one run do-or-die aspect of DH. The difference between the 2 is that Red Bull's events are private events, organised, produced & broadcast by them. They can invite whoever they want, no one can argue otherwise. WBD are organising World Cups on behalf of the UCI, the world governing body for competitive cycling events. They should be completely neutral & the only way to be free from bias/influence is to go off points for all teams. Personal opinion... Teams pull out of enduro - I guess there’s a minimum of 20 EDR & E riders with no ride in 2025 No ebike racing - WBD decision, no ebike teams. So, if there’s no teams as brands focus there budget on other discipline - due to costs, no exposure of enduro etc etc, more focus on DH / XC then WBD don’t kill enduro , the industry does so WBd have clean hands. Balls sold out and killed what he create all in the name of moneys.

5 real reasons dh will not be the next f1/supercross 1). Riding bikes in the woods is for nerds and hicks 2). F1/supercross was broadcast on tv world wide before a production mtb was ever sold. Main thing that introduces a kid to something is their parents or their friend’s parents by proxy. 3). Not head 2 head racing. But speaking part of the reason dh is so god damn fun is because you race the clock/track instead of your opponent I very much hope that never changes.
