9/11/2020 1:11pm Intend has released lower price point series - the blackline https://www.intend-blackline.com/about/ Really going to look a bit more at the Ebonite fork. https://www.intend-blackline.com/products/intend-blackline-ebonite/ The "tricstuff" fork we saw in Rotorua last year definitely was Intend. Same for the European Bike Project bike. Dayom!

5/11/2020 9:38am Digging into my memory banks, 1. Brendan Fairclough crashed in quali and finished 70-something at Pila in 2005, finished 3rd in the race 2. Mark Beaumont crashed and finished 77th in quali's in Vigo in 2007, won the race. Rain in the finals was a factor. 3. Adam Brayton qualified 80th at Champery, finished 6th. Rain in the finals was a factor, obviously. Thanks to Alex Rankin and Rootsandrain.com for the help.

5/11/2020 5:16am I only started following WCDH around 2010 so this is likely the wrong answer. I didn't check the women's but I expect that due to numbers it might be less drastic. In the mens I looked at MSA 2017 and Lourdes 2017. It looks like Logan Binggley - MSA - Qualified 80th - Finished 28th - Improvement 52 places. Lourdes...

5/10/2020 5:57pm Are you asking what is the best finals result for someone who qualified 61-80 back when they were still taking these folks who qualified (weren't protected) 61-80th to the finals? For example someone qualified 80th but then got on the podium or something like that?

4/16/2020 9:06am Update - I just tried a Magic Mary upfront and as well out back (both orange compound). On the mellower trails with not much of a descent, i thought my rear brake was dragging. I could feel the bike slowing down due to the tyre drag. BUT when gravity can get a better hold on you, these tyres grip and come into their own. Will try using 23-25 psi and see how helps with the rolling resistance improves and what happens to the grip levels.

3/30/2020 7:16pm Tires I've tried f & r: 1. WTB Vigi's 29 x 2.3 2. Onza Ibex 29 x 2.25 3. e13 TRS 29 x 2.35 Most all around ones: Ibex Provides best grip: e13 - this would've been my favorite HOWEVER, I tried the TRS SS and discovered/realized how much less rolling resistance that had. HAHA. Stuck to that combo ever since - TRS front, TRS SS rear.

3/30/2020 7:15pm I just got a set of the 2018 e13 LG1 Race tires. They were on deep clearance on backcountry, and I couldn't resist ordering a pair to keep for when my current tires wear out. I haven't mounted them yet, but they weigh ~1000g in the single ply, reinforced casing, which is average for a knobby 29er tire. The casing feels thicker and stiffer than Maxxis EXO casing. Interesting design as the center knobs are significantly shorter than the side knobs. Not quite like a semi-slick tire, because the center knobs are still large, and paired like a Minion, but...

3/30/2020 7:15pm I used to run the same tires F/R, back in the day when there wasnt much difference in rubber compounds an casings but now I like to run Assegai 2.5 MaxTerra F and DHR 2.4 DC R, seems to be the best combo for me in SoCal. On a side note, just put some new WAO union wheels on, very nice!

3/30/2020 7:15pm muddy wet rootty + rocky --> Conti Der Baron F/R.. I think Conti should make a DH version of Der Baron and Der Kaiser across the line (27/5 & 29er) though.. The Der Projekt version (folding) have outstanding grip but the csg is bouncy.. not as damped as it could be (and warps).. never used them in super fast tracks, better on technical steep slippery tracks. May be cushcore would help them..

3/30/2020 7:14pm Currently running a trsr MOPO front and a gen2 LG1 trsr rear. It’s slow rolling but I’m pleased with the grip. I was running MOPO front and rear but had a nasty puncture on the rear that sealant nor a plug could fix. Had to beef up the casing in the rear because their light casing tires don’t hold up. Waiting on my new WAO Unions to arrive so I can try out the Michelin Wild Enduros.

3/30/2020 7:14pm My frustration with Maxxis is sometimes I think they are backwards with their casings and compounds. I’d really like a DD or DH disector in the rear, in their dual compound. I’d like an Exo+ casing minion dhr2 (or DHF) in max grip. But they seem to only do lighter casings in maxterra and heavier casings in maxxgrip. Many exo casings are available in dual compound, but exo alone isn’t always the best out back

3/30/2020 7:14pm Yes, the ethirteen A/Ts are an amazing front tire. I loved the 1st gen. The 2nd gen were ok, i think the 3rd gen is a lot more like the 1st gen. What I do remember is that they are slow rolling, maybe a plus compound in the back would help, but I’m pretty sure I would not want mopo front and rear, mopo in the rear will be too slow, too grippy, and too fast wearing. Otherwise I like them up front more than minions

3/30/2020 7:14pm I'm was running Vee Flow Snap+ (2.6" and a proper 2.6" at that!) front and back on my hard-tail. Still have some of my best times on that setup. Currently on DHF and Spesh Slaughter in the rear for winter fun drift :D

3/30/2020 7:13pm Running WTB vigilantes front and rear, 2,6" 650B Running them with a fast rolling, tough compund rear and high grip, light compund on the front. Gives me very predictable grip both front and rear and the tread pattern works well in most condintions.

3/30/2020 7:13pm Aquila front and rear, DH casing Really good combo. Very predictable, and the rear tire wears off better than I thought. They are a bit too heavy for 29 but you can run lower psi as the wall is very strong and has a wire bed. Another good choice, is DHF front and rear, Maxx Grip Front and Dual compound rear. If you ride both maxx grips the rear tire will be destroyed in a months time. I also like DHR2 front and rear but the problem is that in DH casing the only option for 29 is maxx grip...
