There are a lot of similar companies. The unique thing, the challenging thing is being MADE in NA. It would be cool if you put your money where your mouth is and brought manufacturing TO SoCal. Continental makes their best tires in Germany. So clearly it’s possible to make tires outside of Asia. Even if more expensive, I’m sure you’d...

Do you know if there are adapters to run a 15mm boost front hub?

I'm digging the bike and your setup philosophy. I've been saying that agile/poppy/playful are just synonyms for unstable. If you are looking for speed stable is the way to go.

Great article Paul! Im totally with you on this one, I think this 'underbiking' crap that has grown so much in popularity is mostly just bravado and general dumb assery. Same goes for gravel biking, 'look how much fun Im having! I have to walk my bike past every technical feature and I crash constantly!'

I imagine you’re not asking me, but my G1 is pretty similar. MTB analogy to cars w/o computers = hardtail, esp. SS. Some are, but most are either pursuing what’s best, or just like the experimentation/journey. I thought that, so I bought a Saturn14. It has its place, but I LOVE my G1. Maybe if I rode more XC I’d feel differently? LEFTY. Scotch.

My G1 pedalls as good or better than my previsously owned Yetis, which already climbed very well. I do not see a compromise. The G1 is great on the ups and downs.

PNW. Full clean w/ degreaser in an actual chain cleaner. Numerous water rinses until squeaky clean. Then air compressor dry, followed by Dumonde Tech to rollers. Cycle chain to spread lube to inner parts. Wipe off excess. Interim: wipe off dirt/gunk w/ rag, reapply lube. I don’t do this more than “in a pinch” to limit dirt in chain causing...

Full degrease at new. Wax chain in a rice cooker with paraffin wax then lube with squirt every 4 or so rides until I can be bothered waxing again. The wax gets deep into the chain where the external application of squirt isn't very good at getting.

I call BS. No chain “packed w/ mud for 10 mos out of the year” will work well if you just keep adding lube without cleaning. The lube pulls dirt into friction parts, wearing them down, accelerating wear. You either don’t ride much, your chains are stretched, your dirt is made of marshmallows and unicorns, or SRAM are somehow rewarding...
