I'm going to say the bolts were loose and once 4 of them were out the 2 remaining tabs had o chance. Going by the way those CPS washers have been installed (under the mount instead of the calliper) I don't have a lot of faith that anything was mounted correctly

It looks like the decision of which direction to take the build has been decided for me. A local non-profit was recently gifted a 35 acre plot of land about 2 miles from my house, they announced on Saturday that part of a large public recreation area on the property will be a 1.5 acre pumptrack. So I'm going to take this as a sign that I should build the imperial up as a nimble lightish DJ/pump bike.

I've never seen an option like that in this case, sometimes there are options to adjusted wheel size but i've never seen anything that works if the mount is damaged. Personally on one of my older frames, i've moved to Sturmey drum brake hubs. The power and modulation is between disks and rim brakes, but they're sealed so they aren't affected by wet conditions, they can't get contaminated and you don't need special mounts. Pretty cheap as well for what you get. Bonus, you can run proper 2.4/2.5" rubber on older bikes if you have the frame clearance since you...

As a follow up to the earlier post, I am now clear of the cancer(I consumed so much green stuff)thanks to my wife’s care and cooking still got the COPD & it’s getting worse. Along with the heart it’s been scary to say the least. Probably the worst mistake was listening to the doctors telling me no exercise that screwed me worse. So it’s walking until it hurts then start walking again carrying a can of Boost Oxygen with me while walking or riding, on a bike path all this only being done with my wife being with me in...

You mean the one place in Laguna that tickets riders? Yeah, Laguna is lame like that. I don't like that city at all. But there are a million options to MTB in SoCal and they are either legal or they are pirate trails where you really don't have to worry about a park ranger. That Laguna one just gets a lot of "press" because it has access to some great trails and people willing go to it (avoiding all the other great places to ride) and then have a cry on social media about how they got caught. I dunno...

I would contend Southern California is the galactic HQ of motobro big truck culture.

Makes total sense. Being a part of the whole motobro big truck culture (no judgement, I'm a southerner) has to be a little weird in a place like Southern California. Montana and Tenner seem like much better fits for someone like Gwin. Also: I imagine that having two houses in Montana and Tenn is way more sustainable as he starts a family than one massive house in California. On top of that, his days of million dollar contracts aren't going to last forever (if they even still exists). He needs to be setting himself up for the long term now...

Make a jig that perfectly aligns your stem with with the front tire. Would be pretty easy to fabricate or you could just 3d print it. Your heart is in the right place by starting small, you will go far in the engineering world.

The politics of the State of Texas are, unfortunate. Our Governor spends no political capital on improving our state, it's safety, it's commerce, or the well being of it's citizens but instead all political capital is expended providing red meat for an ultraconservative base that will donate and get his party reelected. However, even a broken clock is right 2x/ day and the Legislature (not our idiot governor) in fact got the ban on e-bikes correct. The very real reality is that my wife is MUCH more fearful of the nearly inevitable head on collision from an illegally ridden e-bike...
