“It’s true that Bentonville has become the new Mountain Biking Capital of the World (TM),” says Mayor Stephanie Orman. “Over the past decade, our community has built a reputation among mountain biking enthusiasts and athletes as the premier global destination for the sport.” No it hasn't.

PSHHHHH, yeah ok Bentonville. Just because you guys have the Walmart family bankrolling your trail system doesn't make you guys the capital. It just makes you on the same level as patent and trademark trolls gobbling up that naming. TEAMROBOT time to bring back the list. For real thought the fact that the Walmart family is throwing a crap ton of money at improving local trails for an area of the country that isn't know for being physically active is good. But on the other hand maybe they should pay their workers a fucking living wage and not have their...

Wasn’t a fan of this feature before and definitely even less of a fan after seeing BK and Jim do it BK almost landed to far to the left and ran off the landing in that direction which looks like it would be disastrous. And the compression from the transition was enough to spit Jimbo off his bike. It’s just not a good feature, imo. Reminds me of Sam Reynolds (I believe it was) refusing to do a rampage run because they wouldn’t put up safety netting. They need netting on this.

Just sayin, that takeoff doesnt look all nice and floaty. Looks like two separate big compressions with a surprisingly steep and short lip.

For me, the scaffold structure takes away from the rugged Welsh mountains bit of a shame to see it head this directions on track building

Very interesting article. However I wonder how reach adjustment on the lever would affect the results. I guess the rate by which it changes the leverage ratio at the lever is not consistent across brakes (if indeed reach does affect it, I am not sure). I would have also liked to see also the result of just how much force can be applied at the rotor surface at nth increments of lever pull. I guess this could be calculated just based on the geometry of the components, but maybe materials and construction could play a role. This would have also...

Why is there no option about notifying the race commissioner in your poll? Assuming it's a small regional race? Contact the race officials with you info, let them confront the racer.

Well, back when full suspension was becoming a thing I wrote a letter to Mountain Bike magazine about how ridiculous 4” travel bikes are. It got published. Who could possibly use such a thing? How could anyone need that much travel? sure enjoy my Transition Spur these days…

People's view of "traditional" has changed over the years. Where exactly is the line? First 650b DH bike, some people wanted different race classes. Fairclough stated in an interview that he would retire rather than ride a 29er (which clearly didn't happen) Someone rode an Enduro bike (maybe Sam Hill at Cairns WChamps) and some people thought there should be a triple clamp fork rule. I can only imagine the comments in the pre-internet days when the first full suss bike showed up...

Sorry, apparently I should have specified that I am not David Lappartient, head of the UCI. Your poll answers will not result in changes in legislation. Just wondering what the hardcore crowd over here think of the current hot topics.

This beauty is collecting dust in my shed and I have a decision to make in getting it rideable again: keep its original intention as a dual crown, 26" downhill smasher, or turn it into a mini-mullet with a long travel single crown? I don't think I'd go full on Remi and put a 24"x2.8 wheel on the back, but the frame rides a bit small for me so it'll be a freeride park/shuttle machine either way. Getting the fork serviced will be about the same price as buying a 190mm Domain, so opening up this discussion to people who...

Enduro is not going anywhere, tons of people enjoy this format, it existed before the EWS, and it will exist after. Competitive Electric Enduro doesn't make sense, it removes aspects from the sport (the endurance part of the sport) and creates problems (motor power regulations and control). If UCI fails the sport, maybe existing race promoters could band together to connect their event into a world series..

Definitely not. A lot of people I know do the opposite of that and close the rebound knob entirely. Think of the suspension fork on your new dirt jumper as a $700 rigid fork with expensive inside bits that sort of move a little when you overshoot a jump to flat and would have otherwise broken your wrists.
