What's the point of that? We're not after a caliper test, the pads and rotors that come with it is much relevant as most people buy brakes as a system first. I do think a rotor test with 1-2 calipers would be good. And potentially a pad test. But they were doing a brake test, we buy brakes as a system

I have been watching Race Tapes and have listened to a PB pod with a couple of the crew from Beat Box. Clearly, they are going for the Drive to Survive documentary vibe. I hated almost all the episodes. I really don't like the style of storytelling and thought the episode with Finn was pretty cringy. It was also very "inaccurate" for the sake of telling a story. I hope that DH racing never goes to the places that F1 is. I just don't want something I love to be misrepresented, or cheapened to broaden the audience. Do we need...

It is, XC going in the right direction. Tracks that require mtb skill, the right tire choice, full suspension and knowing how to use a dropper post will help. When push comes to shove the stronger rider will come out on top but they have to get down these technical sections.

It looks like the Pole DH team is done: https://www.instagram.com/p/C55gXKrsl0A/?igsh=MWE5ZHF4aWh1dW5i too bad. Dan Slack signed with them this year.

As someone who actually likes having to change tires so they can try more different tires, the Conti rear DH soft compounds have been wearing frustratingly (half kidding) slow. Grip is comparable if not better than maxxis maxxterra and the knobs barely show signs of wear after a season of northeast bike park and granite slab riding. Pretty impressive and good for the wallet. Just put a DH casing soft compound argotal on the back of my levo so interested to see how the taller knobs wear.

Maxxis DC is horrific on some surfaces. If you want a long wearing durable tire look at Conti DH casing soft, it'll be way better than Maxxis DC.

I'm not sure if this is the best forum to discuss, but I think we are going to see a lot more from Bafang https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/vitals-sl-emtb-test-sessions-karbon-b… (you can find this frame on alibaba with motor+battery for $1700) I have a Bafang m820 bike, and I can get a sustained 580 watts of output from it. It feels very close to a Shimano motor. The problem is that with a 400 watt hour battery you obviously get far less than a single hour of 580 watts. My question this: Everyone complains about the TQ motor being too weak compared to other SL...

Thoughts on breaking test sessions like this into multiple videos? A three hour video is so intimidating I’m not even willing to start it.

Interesting they are pricing it against the likes of EXT. I've always been a big fan of both EXT and Vorsprung, so it will be interesting to see how they both compare at this price point. I also heard Motion Instruments is releasing during sea otter as well, so that's going to be interesting for the suspension nerds among us.

Based on the filter on the Telum page, it looks like it’ll be $1,380 CAD or $1,000 USD. Interested to see if they offer a tuned shock like EXT and Push. Also interesting to see they seem to have partnered with sprindex to be their spring supplier.

I'm not opposed to the UDH standard becoming more common on gravel or road bikes. But the thought of more 13-speed drivetrains makes me cringe. I had hoped that maybe, just maybe, the War of Who Has the Most Cogs was finally over. I guess not.
