seems like electronic suspension is here to stay even in DH. i love innovation but am not a big fan when it‘s getting too far so that it isn‘t a leveled playing field anymore. since only the top factory riders are gonna have the chance of using that stuff it‘s gonna get harder for the smaller teams who don‘t have access to it. they are already at a disadvantage when i look at how many line spotters the big teams employ. before you could at least buy the same suspension as the factory guys. time will tell if my concerns...

Having Gwin in the box was great---but (I can't believe I'm saying this) they need Cedric back or something. To replace the stoke, the hype, the excitement. The broadcast (especially womens) was very "meh" in terms of "energy". After the race was complete, the wife and I watched the RedBull Race Tapes episode about Finn and Loic from the '23 season. There was some audio overlay from the race commentary of Cedric getting hyped. We both remarked that it was more exciting w/Cedric (or Rob/Claudio). I think Gwin should LEAD over Cedric, but Cedric or someone else needs to be...

Ten women in the final was way too few after seeing half the finalist share the podium afterward. How does this look for those new watchers who don't know to follow qualifier or the semi, which wasn't even broadcast? If they have more racers available for the final, then they should utilize them for the big show. 30 men in the final was alright, but again, so much of the story is missing if we can't watch the up and comers who are battling with the top guys to get a good result. I miss seeing guys like Atwill, Frixtalon...

But maybe Bruni will put 10s into the field once he rocks up on 90mm risers?

PB had all the juicy photos of Bruni's bike . They were testing rotor covers. You can al so see the bike with the cover off. There is also a brace on the derailleur hanger, I am too out of the loop on transmission stuff to know if it a stock piece. Looks like it is an electric motor that actuates the damping dials. There might also be something above the spring collar (preload adjuster?) but it's hard to see.

Neither. It’s racing, teams will find other ways to make gains. I chose other for Dak’s bars

Worst thing is that they had cameras on for the semis. They showed them on the big screen on-site. A bloody YT/Twitch stream would have been perfectly fine and cheap!

Also, they're not running it fully automated. Looks like a Reverb AXS controller on the left which likely turns the extra compression on/off. Colored LEDs on the fork to tell you what setting you're in.

Really cool to see that he has 3 options, just wonder what changes those are doing. While on the Loic topic, I noticed he’s running split lower clamps like motocross bikes. Could be flex character he likes or just more even clamping for the stanchions the way the torque is distributed.

I was watching Bruni's Gopro footage from Fort William practice, and something caught my eye. From the footage you can actually see when he switches between damping modes from the LEDs on his stem. It happens at least 3 times: 1) blue mode off the start till at least the wood section (I did not check if he switches anything in the upper section); 2) green mode in the wood section until the second turn/shark fin after the road gap; 3) back to blue mode for the new fast section; 4) red mode from the bridge before the motorway to...

Any word on whether the Junior finals and Elite semi's will the broadcast for free on Youtube like last year? I haven't came accross anything confirming such. Also can't wait for some Vital RAW to drop!

Here's another thought on Amaury's steel oval-shaped chainstay. The obvious conclusion is that they're chasing a particular amount of flex that they couldn't get out of aluminum, but here's another idea: What if they already had the level of flex they wanted out of the old bike, but they were breaking aluminum chainstays left and right? It makes sense that the chainstay would be the weak point in a flexy rear end, because it's the direct line from the bottom bracket (aka where most of the rider's mass is transmitted to the rest of the chassis) to the rear axle...

It's Ft. William. It's always been fast and open since the mountain is relatively flat. Agree the tracks have trended faster but I think it looks better on screen- especially for a casual fan. There's a decent variety of tracks across the series- some do have the sections/feature you're looking for. I'm excited to see the Poland track. If you want tight and jank go watch EWS. hahaha

Values look good and there’s some hidden gems in there. But that’s kinda moot with being able to change teams after semis. No point in researching and taking a flyer on potential dark horses to mix it up as of now. If I had a suggestion I’d say teams have to be submitted after qualies at the latest.
