7/18/2025 8:24am I bought a lyrik fork, maxxis tires, and pedals from jenson a few months back and the pedals were the only thing in real packaging. As others are pointing out the bike industry has a lot of parts to move at the moment, the fork and tires I got sounded like they were destined for complete bikes for some brand but the demand just wasn't there.

7/17/2025 7:16pm I know how you feel. The first ever ebikes I picked up for the wife and I were Yamaha's. Then they dropped out of the American market. Then we picked up a couple Vitus bikes. Love the bikes but then they closed too. So then I picked up a Decoy SN and the wife got a Decoy MX. Now they...

7/17/2025 7:11pm I bought alot of Shimano stuff from Aliexpress (XT shifter and derailler for $80, br7120 brakeset for $150 ect) and it would always come bubble wrapped and in a plain cardboard box. I always figured it came out of some factory in some guys lunchbox Johnny Cash style.

7/17/2025 6:56pm I had a Tues on order that went on a deeper discount. I sent an email to CS and they refunded me the difference. They had my money for about 1.5 month before the bike shipped. (3 weeks ago) I seem to have knack for buying bikes from companies that are about to tank, Nukeproof ate it right after I got my Giga as well. I'm not really too worried I think YT will pull though this.

CarolinaCrawler Added a reply to spring rate - YT tues
6/24/2025 8:23am My daughter and I both have MK3 Tues that use the same shock. I am 250lb and use a 400lb or 450lb spring on the bike compared to the 600lb to 650lb spring on my trail bike with a 205x5 shock. You definitely have to run a lower spring rate than normal with that giant shock.

6/24/2025 8:19am I ran a 300lb spring on my 2015 at 190lbs bodyweight without kit. Also, the longer shaft shock has a higher shaft speed (lower leverage rate) deep in the travel which creates higher than normal damping, so don't over spring

5/14/2025 7:48pm Tahnee said her dad and 2 other guys built the entire thing in 6 months. She showed pics in her insta stories of the process. They literally started with a low deck flat bed trailer and built the entire thing. As a fabricator, I am truly impressed.

5/14/2025 7:44pm As an avid Ebike guy, I'm much more excited about integrated motor and gearboxes like the Pinion MGU. I think that the gearbox and belt drive is the future we should look at with ebikes. It just makes so much sense with the ebikes. No more drivetrain issues and keeps all the weight centered and down low. I really think...

5/13/2025 8:07pm I agree completely. I picked up the lowest spec SN because I like to put my own parts on a bike and I still prefer cable shift (it actually came stock with my preferred drivetrain, Shimano SLX derailler and XT shifter - gotta have that double up). I love the bike. I rarely ride in Turbo or river or whatever...

5/13/2025 8:02pm As a father of 2 i can relate. If i get granted 2 hours of freetime i want to get in just as much of the fun as possible, hence i got an mid assist ebike. I am riding with heart rate monitor and i get the same workout bit can cover alot more distance. With that said, i got the Yt one with fazua engine. I paid way less for the decoy sn with the best setup you can order than what a santa cruz basemodel would have cost me. I recomend it as this bike shreds and i...

5/8/2025 7:32am I'm happy to report Asa is being well compensated, at a level equal to his talent and future. Despite choices aplenty, Asa decided to stay with a team capable of fully taking care of him, but also one whose business dealings have been genuine and transparent. Asa's a bright kid, but to assume he was not properly represented and took advise, especially as one of the most branded athletes in the sport is a bit dramatic. No money nor opportunity left on the table. Opportunity: Taz, Wales...Rampage? Who gets that? Money: Private for obvious reasons, but he's making more at...

5/8/2025 7:30am If he went to commencal he would also ride with Miriam Nicole who is sponsored by Red Bull. At the end of the day I think Asa sees neko as a friend and mentor and wants to continue that relationship. I have little doubt Martin and neko intend to get Asa very well compensated in the long run. But I also think neko is a pretty good example of someone from a normal background who essentially has what he wants by navigating the bike industry. He never made a huge salary from a frame deal but he co owns two...

5/8/2025 7:28am Prime Gwin, years ago in wayyyy better economic times said he's making approx $1m when combining all streams of income. Asa, as good as he is not in the same ballpark commodity wise as peak Gwin. No one is making 1.5m in today's climate IMO.
