4/23/2026 7:37am I have it in a few bikes. I WORK AT DT SWISS. I have not ridden o-chain. I live in Western Colorado and basically ride in the 10 degree setting all the time. When I go to the bike park, then I swap to the 20. On my e-bike, it is always in the 10 setting. On my PNW trip last year I swapped depending on where I would ride. Around here, trying the 20 degree at our techy trails, you do get a bit of a thud when riding technical terrain on the analog bike. I haven't noticed that...

4/22/2026 7:39am I was replying in jest. I’m a tall guy at 6’2” so I really can’t stand slack seat angles on extra large bikes. Effective SA measurements on larger bikes are always random. If it’s too slack when you raise your seat, your body positioning gets put into a pretzel. One of my favorite bikes I used to own was terrible to climb, because the taller the seat the more my legs were put into a recumbent position. I also had to lean really far forward like I was on a road bike… I’ve learned It’s not quite as important on...

4/22/2026 7:38am Every set of Mavens I've felt on display, right out of box bikes have felt like this. I can understand why people don't like them immediately. After all these year and iterations of products I guess I've just come to accept things like brakes should be bleed out of the box, fork fluid levels should be checked out of the box, frame pivots should be checked out of box....

4/17/2026 9:02pm I agree on the seat tube angle deal. I really like a shorter top tube for a more upright riding position when seated.

4/17/2026 8:59pm Does anyone have a clue as to why all these longer travel e-bikes are coming out with 76° seat angles? I thought we had moved past this

4/16/2026 7:48pm We did a spring backed IFP on the DH-R brake adjuster. It works fine so long as you keep the spring preload within reason. The main idea behind the whole brake adjuster was actually to have a base brake line pressure be about 15 psi so that the system would be less sensitive to bubbles. Not much impact on pad retract at that pressure with that brake, but much past it and you'd start to notice decreased pad retract/lever throw. But yeah relying on fluid to pull something as opposed to push something is a trickier thing.

3/31/2026 6:40am Gee, I feel so old fashioned with my outdated Bosch Wild. I slapped it together last night, but all the set-up is yet to be completed and in fact I think I disconnected something when running new brakes as the motor won't power on now. Will try and get that handled in a couple of days when I get some time again. It's showing 49.2#s ready to ride now with pedals, with dual coil suspension (Avy front and rear), dual DH rims, dual DH tires, electronic dropper and electronic shifting, Size L with CXR and 600wh battery. still need to...

3/26/2026 8:01pm TRP DHR evo lever / Maven Base update. I set these up with maxima mineral oil and Shimano BH90 hose, and just a simple Shimano style bleed cup bleed after pushing oil through the lines. I also did a comprehensive piston massage procedure. I did one shuttle day on the setup, and impressions are that this combination is quite good. The lever stroke is very acceptable, bite point feels well defined and does not wander or pump out at all, and the maven power is also there. Good modulation, as you would expect from TRP lever. I've got the stock...

3/26/2026 5:33am My next shock will be a Bomber CR with the full fluid focus DIY kit. Seems the best bang for buck ($150 for used bomber, $50 rebuild kit and fluid, $200 FF kit).

3/26/2026 5:28am I'm afraid that I can't offer much info about the Cane Creek Kitsuma Air Gen 1, but I've been riding the Kitsuma Air Gen 2 on my Specialized Turbo Levo 3 since the beginning of this year. It replaced a very tired Fox Float X. After getting the Kitsuma Air on the bike, I installed & followed the Cane Creek Shock Tuner app on my phone. Took me about 8 or 9 laps in a single session on one of my favorite trails where I ride my e-bike to get the shock dialed in. The ride quality even before making...

3/24/2026 5:27am Anyone aware of any new bikes coming out using the TQ40 motor like the rallon rs? Or similar low power sub 40#? I rode a rallon rs and it was almost perfect. It’d be sweet to get the rallon rs but without all the integration mainly the dropper. Ideally set up with a one up dropper, transmission, and mavens.
