5/4/2026 6:58am Right now the TQ360 batteries are about the same price as the range extender. It never made sense to be to get the range extender unless your flying with it. My Osprey Raptor 14 will hold a spare battery perfect and like you said they charge extremely fast. I really like the Fuel EXE or Fuel+ platform as them and...

5/4/2026 6:49am I bought an EXe when they first came out and bought a second battery at the same time. Back then, you could purchase a second battery for a couple hundred dollars more than the range extender. They weren't really anticipating people doing this. You had to separately buy all the brackets to attach to the battery to attach it to the frame. I think the pricing spread has moved substantially. If you ride places where it's common to cruise back by the trailhead during the ride, this setup is amazing. I also picked up a power station on black Friday...

4/30/2026 2:03pm Yeah, I still really like my Nebo Peak with the Ride60 drive unit. Mine started making a grinding noise pretty early on, but it was warrantied and replaced before it ever died. The replacement drive unit hasn't had any issues. I wish I had the newer, slightly larger battery. But I can get ~20 miles and 3,500' without being too conservative on assist. I assumed Ride60 was a dead platform, but I heard there's at least one more new eMTB coming out with it.

4/30/2026 2:03pm Without any kind of fast charging available the Bosch SX system paired with the 400wh is not making any possible sense, just go CX / 600wh and detune to get better range at this point. TQ HPR60 with the 580wh is ahead of the whole SL segment, we need more bikes with this system.

4/30/2026 7:51am I know when he was with YT he did pretty extensive testing with both and said he was faster with the mullet. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a mullet dropout.

4/30/2026 7:50am I'm pretty sure you're right. The axle position on Kolb's bike is clearly lower than the original, which would correspond to a 27.5 rear.

4/30/2026 7:37am Fazua doesn't really bother me anymore. I have over 700 miles on mine and its still ticking. It did arrive dead out of the box and in the US, QBP handles the service and they are wonderful. I don't think they are as bad as they used to be. Plus, power to weight wise they are really hard to beat...

4/30/2026 7:32am Is it me, or do Loic's pedals look bigger then the production Mallet DH? It may be the picture angle throwing it off.

4/30/2026 7:17am The smoking deal right now is on the Pivot Shuttle SL. Its marked down significantly and a really good deal on a hell of a bike.

4/30/2026 7:16am This Maxon air motor is possibly gonna be less weight vs the Tq 60? It’s slim pickins when looking for a lightweight emtb with dual 29 wheels. MTE or fuel + really all there is.

4/29/2026 6:31am I feel like I can finally add input to this thread. I have just about every flavor of Maven's in my fleet and I just got the chance to try out the b1. I have a set of expert a1 (on my nomad 6), bronze a1 (on my ebike) and base that I just converted to b1's with a silver lever assembly (on my ht4 trail bike). I am also trying out a set of maven base levers with db8 calipers at the moment on a weird ultra light trail bike experiment build... but that's a story for a different...

4/29/2026 5:56am OK this thread is getting WAY off topic with helpful advice and success👎 Some basic rules from my time as a customer facing shop mechanic: Don't touch your face with greasy hands. (I did) It's your duty to not tell your coworker they have an extra cassette grease 'stache, or eyeliner when they are helping customers at the service desk. (they never told me).

4/29/2026 5:53am I would love to see them make something to compete with TQ. The SX is great but kinda pointless in my opinion. Any SX bike, by the time you add a range extender (which is almost mandatory with the 400 battery) is pretty damn close in weight to the CX and 600 battery. I originally said it would be awesome...

4/28/2026 6:38am It is sick, exactly like my spire but with longer chainstays which is what I wanted. Great at jumping, way more nimble than the trek I came off. But yea the routing is just so annoying.

4/27/2026 6:39pm I really wish they did external routing on that thing! If it wouldn't void the warranty I would just about add nutserts to the top of the downtube and some cable clamps just for the rear brake line. I really like that frame and it will probably be my next downhill bike but damn! I would have really liked external...

4/27/2026 6:28pm My newest dumb problem is that I got one of the new tr11 frames and they put the screws for the frame cable guides underneath the cables and it’s pretty delicate plastic. So you need a buddy to pull the cable out of the way super hard while he also holds the guide in place and you fight to get the tiny screw in with my fat fingers. Why they removed external routing ill never know.

4/26/2026 5:03pm Another benefit is the new hub is that it has damn near zero drag similar to the WRP kit. Seems like a win win.

4/26/2026 5:03pm Had my first ride on the EX 1700 today, DT Swiss’ new alu wheel that comes with the chain device installed. It cost £400 for the full wheel at RRP which feels like quite a fair price. It felt really great, the bike almost felt like it floated under me, my friend noted that my rolling speed seemed high. It’s quite a chain slappy bike and the device has definately reduced that on the small chunk, but it still slaps on proper hits. One odd thing that may be unrelated is that the suspension felt too soft, I even had...
