You’ve all tucked hard at a bike park to catch his up to a buddy, and went past, that’s aero positioning kids. But the tangled mess of cables, is not slowing anyone in an mtb race or ride.

Re machining calipers, - piston seal groove geometry is interesting. They are not square. About a 7deg taper on the outer surface. The top edge usually has a shallow angle chamfer to help control how the seal flexes outward. On a single piece caliper you'd need two different tools to cut the grooves. One for each side. Not the end of the world, but more custom tools. Custom ground stuff is a pain. - calipers aren't very wide so regardless of whether it's single piece or two pieces the length of tools isn't an issue. Except for the drills... -...

"...the span of the bolt is too long" is quite a factor in this. You'd need a hell of a flex in the frame to break a bolt. Went back to the (second) In Depth video and it's a standard allen bolt with a standard thread length (for the given bolt length). It looks like it's an M6 bolt? I'm going to go with an M6 bolt as it doesn't seem like it's an M8 and a lot of bikes use a size 5 allen wrench for the shock bolts, which means an M6 bolt for a standard allen bolt...
