12/4/2023 7:14pm My speculation is that last year was planned to be Greg's last season. Based on that and the season Jackson had, Santa Cruz allocated funds to lock Jackson in for a long time. It was stated that Santa Cruz has Jackson locked in for a long term contract and it's clear they view Jackson as their future star. They didn't budget for a 2024 season for Greg. By the time Greg decided that he didn't want to finish on bad season and wanted to race 2024 the team budget was spent. With the struggles at PON and all bike companies...

12/1/2023 8:03pm I recently ran an assegai maxxgrip dh front and butcher dh T9 rear for a few months- was a great combo for dry conditions. Assegai lasts really well for me as a front tire- doesn’t seems as sensitive to losing the sharp edges as a DHF. And the butcher T9 rolls better and lasts longer than any maxxgrip maxxis.

11/30/2023 7:45pm Neko did a video early in his series, using data it showed he had a slight change in dynamic sag while testing with and without oChain. I have done back to back, before I had data and could "feel" a difference in my feet, this was on a Trek Session that has a mid pivot idler. From that point on, I use it. I also ride flat pedals, so it make me more confident on the connection to pedals with much less feeling that my feet are sliding forward in square edge hits. I'm normally in a 6 degree setting...

11/29/2023 8:25pm I think it’s filming a deathgrip2 segment. Read somewhere awhile back they had to wait to film a couple parts so some riders would be in the right sponsored kit when it came out

11/29/2023 8:16pm It’s noticeable right? Many high profile riders on the MS Mondraker team have not bean able to perform as good after making the move. To me it was especially apparent with David Trummer (though he has been injured for a while too)

11/29/2023 8:16pm I really hope that Dak and Pinky aren't going to Mondraker. No one has really seemed to kill it on their bikes in a while. I'm hoping that the MS Intense rumors are true for Dak. In his Downtime Podcast appearance, he kept talking about "consistency" being key to his success. If you listen closely, he's not talking about his own consistency (although that's part of it), but having consistency in bike and setup being necessary for his success. He also talked about being in a really solid, comfortable place moving into next season. That would indicate, to me, that...

11/29/2023 8:15pm I thought that this is already public knowledge that Ryan Pinkerton, Dakota Norton and Ronan Dunne are on Mondraker, but today I have heard that Ronan was spotted on a Unno bike in South Africa. 🤔 There were also rumors that Angel Suarez is going to Mondraker, but that he didn't like the bike.

TheSuspensionLabNZ Liked a reply to forum topic Attn Fellow Suspension Nerds - 180mm Zeb won't get full travel?
11/26/2023 7:39pm This is a good point - the main reason I see people not getting travel is simply friction from the bushings! A 5wt oil might be OK in this specific application, because the bushings are so long that if the clearance is tight it can suit a lighter oil, which will be better at high speeds where a thick oil can create measurable drag. Its a combination of stanchion diameter + bushing length + clearance that determines the ideal viscosity. I usually find the stock dynamic "light" lube @ 50cSt is a really good balance for most forks but if...

11/26/2023 7:33pm So run an Ohlins? Their 3 chamber air allows you to adjust the end stroke ramp. Not getting full travel? Back off the end stroke ramp air pressure. Need more bottom out support? Add air. They have a three click HCS system that doesn't use spring pre-load on the shim stack (they use an oval shim). Do you like very firm compression? Have the TTX18 re-shimmed from their documented shim bank. Lighter rider and like less compression? Their shim bank has that covered. With their shim bank you don't need to rely on guessing or some guru's claimed magic, it's...

CascadeComponents Liked a reply to forum topic Let's Talk Axle Path
11/25/2023 7:43pm Yeah as long as the axle paths are in the same ballpark. Magnified axle path just makes it look like things are less similar than they are quite often. The thing I like about more rearward axle paths, mainly in the first half of travel, is the vertical displacement of the wheel doesn’t also pull the wheel over the bump at a faster rate. On medium sized and larger bumps immediately after the wheel has gone into a hole I do notice less of that getting hung up sensation compared to a more conventional axle path. But Dreadnought vs Range...
