Hey Primoz, if you go to the Park Tool video I linked to, at 3:07 you can see their spoke tension map that shows the top and bottom spokes both losing tension as they sit on the bike. It's the spokes on the sides that gain tension, because the rim is flexing in at the bottom from rider weight and compression and pushing those forces out to the left and the right, like my coffee cup example above.

It’s not even a big problem for future Commencal owners, because majority of bikes will end up in bike shops with cracked frame warrantys before the headset dies. And then the bikeshop will have to deal with headset cable routing and bearing replacement.

Whilst land laws are clearly overly complicated in the US, with even more complicated rights of access, you could end up fully down a rabbit hole. But, if e-bikes are legal, then why wouldn’t you? Especially in your circumstances. The OTT, almost obsessive hatred that some Americans have towards them is just weird, when the rest of the world is just getting on with enjoying them for the most part. Thankfully, the UK is far more progressive in terms of land access & wherever a normal bike can go, so can an ebike. I live in a very popular riding...

By that logic then, so do fit people. I can do 2000m vert on my leg bike, or my ebike if I want to. I ride the same amount of trails. Some people just session one trail all day, pushing back up and doing multiple run. Are they monsters too? Also, for the sake of pendantry, they arn’t mopeds, e-mopeds, motos, etc & it makes you look like a silly child, calling them that with vitriol. I think you should stick to shouting at clouds.

Gracious of you to offer to meet face to face but apparently you can’t handle having your charade dropped online so I don’t think an in person meet up would help you. Please just go back to your bud therapy and the parking lot. Do you still rock 420 on your number plate?

A lot of rage? That’s what countering your narrative is? anyway, you claimed in your post or at the VERY least inferred that eBikes were to blame. They are not. if “MtB” wants to be treated as a real user constituents they need to fight back. So unless the SCOTUS is who ruled on this case it should have been appealed. One thing I’ll give credit to Environmental Groups is they DO NOT give up as easily as groups like “MtB users” do. Fun fact… Congressman Tom McClintock DROPPED his push for Federal Legislation that would have codified MtB’s right...

The story about the trail closure in Montana, you’re blaming eBike for the closure of trails IN A WILDERNESS? While I don’t actually believe that a bicycle should be banned anywhere a horse is allowed, this closure had zero to do with eBikes. ANY MtB’s period were not legal in these areas. every arguement about ebikes boils down to one thing and one thing ALWAYS, people don’t want more people on the trails. Your comment that eBikes climb hills at 15 mph (bullshit) and they cause trail damage (please site the study) is spurious and frankly I’d say a weak...

The sheer ignorance, arrogance and jealousy in this post is amazing. The eGenie is out of the bottle. Maybe you should consider that public trails aren’t your private trails. FYI, Class 1 ebikes are not moped but you know that. I’m sure you also know that a eBike has no more impact on trails than a non eBike inflicts on the trail. So you really just come off as being dumb when you suggest otherwise. Finally, the real reason you don’t like eBikes is you don’t like opening up the sport to people who enjoy it on a bike that...

I’m way too fragile to ride on the dirt anymore even a simple ride on a asphalt bike path is questionable, but if I could ride more on dirt I’d be all over the ability to make 2 runs not to mention 3 on a eBike I’m too weak to push a bike or pedal on much of any incline, I did momentarily think I could’ve used a eBike to get me to all the doctors appointments because gas prices are now controlling my treatment needs but this option seemed too risky for my family so thats gone now. eBikes...
