He didn't really absolve all the debts. He bought back the company, which he was not a major owner of anymore due to the prior sale, and the administrators accepted his offer as the best. They reviewed and agreed that his offer would provide creditors adequate compensation out of all the offers available. It just so happened that the CEO was the one to buy it with his own money/financing. It would also be legal in the US. What he did as CEO before insolvency was also legal, in that he ran a sale to get cash ostensibly to save...

Jack‘s starting to sell YT bikes on his instagram. Not that it would surprise anyone but I guess this is proof that he is up for grabs as well

Banned for what? Because they are facing financial troubles? I think it’s time to cool down for some of us here. All riders are apparently signed to new teams, their team manager Gunnar did a hell of a job getting the riders through these final rounds and none of the customers are facing financial loss. If you take into account...

We tend to forget in our small bubble how little their regular customer is interested in the behind the scenes of their race program. Most will have heard the company is undergoing restructuring and that’s about it. In fact I know a lot of YT owners who ride their bikes much more regularly than I do, yet could not care...

YT mob riders seem to have arrived in the US. Notably no mention of YT in any of their socials. Really excited to see if we might actually get some new ride reveals during practice

Kind of figured that was what’s going on when news spread that an unknown investor all of a sudden started to provide funds to compensate customers affected by the insolvency. Think of Flossman what you want.. he sure has made some questionable business decisions with selling the company to PE in the first place. But that is one fine move...

Markus Flossmann sent us this statement As you may know, the main shareholder (PE investor) announced at the beginning of July that they would no longer finance the company, which forced us to file for self-administration insolvency. That gave us three months to find a new investor. Unfortunately, the offers we received were an absolute joke and not worth considering. That’s why I decided to buy the company back myself. The creditors’ committee has already approved my offer, and we are now in the process of finalizing the contracts in order to relaunch the business under the new setup. As...

People in Europe have started to receive their flash sale bikes, and they are actually getting the exact models they ordered. There is some speculation that these bikes might legally be treated as gifts from the new investor in order to protect the brand name. This could also explain the no-return policy.

Pretty sure they’ve figured the legal part of this out before addressing the customers. Especially since there must be a bunch of lawyers involved at this point monitoring every move. I would assume this is a special situation because, as per law, they would not be required to deliver the bikes at all as they are part of the insolvency...

Quick update on the YT situation. I’ll just leave this here to help straighten out the company’s reputation a little. I’ve always had a soft spot for the brand, since I’ve only ever met great people working there. I’m sure they never intended to rip anyone off and probably tried to avoid insolvency until the very last moment. Anyway, seems...

They’ve had this truck at all the European races since the 2024 season. Before that they were on a much smaller setup. Things must have gone downhill (pun intended) real quick when just a year ago they were confident to invest big time in their program. Kind of in line with what was said about key contractors letting them down...

Sounds like Orbea may have taken the opportunity to buy the full program off of YT? They had a brand new team truck and everything. Might have been a good deal if they were under pressure to sell out

If true I wonder if Orbea are going to start another team or if Vali is going to join the Seagraves. Always had the impression that she and Tahnee did not vibe the best. But then again what do I know..

True.. also Bienve and Stark in Freeride, Fedko in Slopestyle. That team is stacked. Certainly among the best lineup of riders overall at the moment. But also kind of serves to show how messed up the bike industry is right now. Great ambassadors, great bikes, very reasonable pricing, still struggling

I think it’s almost safe to say that the YT mob in its current form is not going to exist next year. Ric hinting at a turbulent team situation multiple times in today’s broadcast. Vali, Andi and Oisin all very popular riders - male riders maybe not constant podium contenders but very popular with social media and fans, which might...

All I can tell you from a German's perspective is that there have been a bunch of smaller (bike) companies here operating under the same self-administered restructuring process - many of which were able to recover. The goal of these proceedings is actually to get the company back on track and not just sugar coating a bankruptcy. Given this, I...

I wonder if SRAM have a problem with the uncaged approach? They still must bring some support out to the EDR so what difference does it make to service one more rider who has been very outspoken with his support of their stuff. Weird move on their part
