All three of these want to sell you something that they say is better than what’s on your bike, and to do so they first need to convince you that what is on your bike is not good enough.

Long story short, Mr. Robot is right, the fork is really good, like really really good. Tried to burp a little air out of the fork and got a little oil on my rotor but other than that, setup was straight forward and I am happy.

I think most of what you're saying is fair and makes sense... but I'd also be SHOCKED (no pun intended) if Fox, RockShox, etc. didn't triple check the product they bring to press launch events on a dyno or something just to make 100% sure that they didn't bring any outliers that slipped through manufacturing QC. There's people here on this forum for example, who've said that when they worked for Specialized, they would carefully go over every single bike brought to a press even to make sure it was running perfectly. I have no doubt that Shimano did something...

Felt this needed an echo to show that Fox is still Fox, inverted or not. You think the forks they sent Vital, PB, and all the other media outlets are like this. 😉

Jeff Kendall Weed has a great series of slow mo shots in his Podium video with side by side comparisons of front tire skids with the 36SL, 38, and Podium, and it's pretty wild how much fore/aft flex he gets out of the two RSU forks compared to the Podium. Doesn't look like much in the still, but it's a lot of motion back and forth in the vid. Also I just now noticed he's wearing loafers for the shot, which is the most JKW thing you'll see all week. I think it makes an interesting watch for anyone, but...

Update: Got a good weekend of riding in Friday-Sunday, 25miles and 19k feet of descending, would have been more if it wasnt for the snow storm on sat. Lots of laps on the old N* EWS track, TNT, along with Sticks and Boonies and I have to say I am very, very, impressed with the hopes and what I will call, a very intuitive power delivery. Funny enough, most people that grab the levers would try to squeeze them to death and commented on the "soft" feel. IMO the bite point is very defined, but the force to get to...
