7/3/2025 10:06am I had a Mojo with X-Fusion. Friend was the local dealer and got offered a deal. Idea was to swap parts over time. It ended up with Fox 36 and CCDBA and full XT groupset as things wore out and items were in the sale. Still worked out cheaper than buying a better spec to begin with and I had it exactly how I wanted it.

7/2/2025 5:38pm This isn't throwing support behind the latest initiatives in the US, but who's to say that what's good for one country is good for the other. Both China and the US are playing to their strengths when it comes to energy supply and dependance. China relies on oil supplies outside its borders whereas the US does not. China is diversifying away from oil and gas because they need to, not because it's best for the world. The electrification of the western world is being driven by climate initiatives but it's recently been shown in North American politics that climate topics...

Fox completely overhauled their flagship half-shell helmet range at the beginning of this year, with the all-new Speedframe RS and Speedframe Pro shooting straight to the very top of Virginia Tech’s well-regarded helmet safety rankings at the time. The POC Cularis has since replaced the Speedframe RS in the #1 spot, but the differences are marginal and both aforementioned Fox helmets are still in the top 4, which is not too shabby considering that there are currently 271 helmets on the list. Aside from the excellent safety ratings, we were also very impressed with the overall fit and function...

7/2/2025 6:06am As a former brand and product manager for a helmet brand, I had a coworker show me their new Speedframe pro a few weeks ago and what a friggin nice lid. Historically Fox lids did not fit my head perfectly, but this one fit me quite well and the attention to detail was pretty great. Nice work to the Fox crew on this helmet and congrats on the VT test score as well.

7/1/2025 7:45pm I learned to like the Tioga Edge 22 a lot. What a fun front tire, fast rolling, grippy in corners and not too heavy.

6/30/2025 4:24pm Stiffness is just displacement under a given load. Steel and aluminum will have different material damping and rebound properties even when their stiffness is identical. I’m imagining the legs of an inverted fork can be thought of like a tuning fork, and axle material will change how that tuning fork sounds.

6/30/2025 10:05am Yes, I should clarify that I’m running a MaxxGrip Assegai up front to pair with that fast rolling/longer wearing MaxxTerra DHR2. Front tires last 3 to 4 times longer for me than rear tires, and rolling resistance is so much more noticeable in a rear tire that I’m literally sitting on top of, so there’s no reason for me to not run the grippiest version upfront.

6/30/2025 10:04am How many forks are torn down to bits / serviced per vendor in an average DH WC race? Would you not want the same mechanic(s) to do the job on all forks sent to media?

6/30/2025 7:26am Brian Cahal's vid of him using the raised reversed stem also featured him washing out the front and eating dirt. You know it's something riders won't mess with when even the guy known for having a ridiculously high stack (Dak) runs a stem that roughly matches his offset. To me it seems like there's absolutely nothing to be gained from really short stems.

6/29/2025 10:08am Could be. Could be that two axles that test on a jig or in FEA or autocad or whatever to have "the same stiffness" can perform differently in the field, especially when bolted into a dynamic environment like the bottom of an inverted fork holding a big 29" front wheel. I would kill to get to try out the other axles that didn't get chosen. I would love suggestions for this test idea: One of the things I've decided after all the Podium/Intend/Dorado/Push comments is that we need to do an apples to apples torsional "handlebar twist" test on video...

6/29/2025 8:32am Here's another wild theory - the thin-walled steel axle is a bit more flexy and more comfortable to ride than thick Al alloy axles so it became the riders' favorite. I think I feel a bit of the same when switching from quite flexy to very stiff front hubs wheels in the Intend. I am probably just crazy.

6/28/2025 7:40am Mostly premature wear and very obvious noises(creaking) I guess would be the only reasons for warranty for your regular consumer.

6/28/2025 7:09am How many average riders can actually tell if a fork performs to its full potential? How many would be able to come up with a plausible argument for a warranty action?

6/28/2025 7:05am While it sounds reasonable, I think everyone else is using alu axles in their USD forks and they don't seem to be causing any issues.
