What are you waiting for?

I have noticed that when I see the tech rumors thread updated I am hoping for something rad to show up, “the next big thing,” if you will. This might take some thinking, but what do you think you are waiting for from the MTB industry?

I’m waiting for more modular bikes (new orbea got me psyched!!!)

I am also really dissatisfied with drivetrains and I am really looking forward to the day when they make meaningful advances in the chain slap/pedal kickback/friction/engagement categories. I think we have all of the pieces available to build really nice systems but it would be rad to see it all integrated and stock on a bike. SRAM buying Ochain got me buck for this reason!

Seeing as the majority of innovation is being funneled into e-bikes and electronic drivetrains, I am realizing I will need to be patient with what I’m looking for.

Pinion MGU Bikes available in the U.S.  or some other gearbox/belt ebike system.  I’m over deraileurs and chains.

totally forgot i was waiting for that too!!! i had a pinion equipped ghost bike packing hardtail and i really loved it. the only drawback was that the weight distribution was off: the bike was really front heavy. I wonder if a fully feels different? I wanted to keep that bike forever but the frame was way overbuilt and way too stiff for how I would be using a hardtail.
