Vorsprung Liked a reply to forum topic Have We Been Measuring Sag Wrong? (and how to fix it...)
6/23/2025 1:09pm Agreed on all counts. If it's repeatable, it's as valid as it can be, but it's not a very meaningful target in itself, it's a byproduct of having the necessary spring rate for the loads you put on the bike and the ride quality you're looking for. Worrying about the precision of the sag measurement like that is utterly pointless if you're ignoring the factors that actually matter when selecting spring rates. On that note, we have a few different ways that we calculate spring rates for the Telum on any given frame (tuninghub.vorsprungsuspension.com) - if you know what you...

6/23/2025 1:07pm Anyone rides their Intend fork with the less progressive air spring cap? I haven't started messing with the setup much until I'll have gotten a good feeling of the baseline configuration, and I am slowly getting there. I generally prefer more linear fork springs so this change should be right up my alley.

6/21/2025 8:28pm In my experience, it's almost never the links. Inspect the seat post. My V1 was creaking like hell when the frame flexed and rubbed against the very bottom of the seat post - even when not sitting on the saddle. Try a different crankset, try different pedals, try a different shock, try a different rear wheel.

6/21/2025 4:13am I do believe it makes brake feel different, sharper more defined bite. That’s why pros use stiffer hoses on trp, stock ones are soft, you can feel them and see them moving while just using the lever.

6/20/2025 1:42pm It is a dumb decision by Shimano, IMO. Instead of finally giving 11speeders a mainstream option, they chose the obscure route of proprietary design and complexity. I can't believe anyone will pick a Shimano-powered ebike just to have access to this RD.

6/20/2025 1:37pm O/T-ish: Speaking of leaf springs, how about this one? This will never be a Spot on my radar screen, but I am curious about how it feels / what sort of shock sorcery is needed to make it feel right.

6/20/2025 8:24am Yes, by about $150 plus you're not locked into Hope's chainring mount standard. I've 3 sets of Canfields so that can be taken as a recommendo.

6/20/2025 5:41am oh my god beautiful bike. Its a shame these short chainstays and me have parted ways..I had previous generation of the balance and now after a few bikes I cannot go back to short chainstays, anyways.. about this topic, to me the one of the best frames is the Canfield one.2.... 200mm, dropper compatible.. you can short stroke to 180mm, pedals fantastic. Its badass looking. Here in 190mm front and rear in dh mode.. thinking about dropping some pedal friendly bits again in a few days (dropper, cassette), have done it before.. just dont have pics

6/19/2025 9:01am I just received my 2nd order of Pendulums. Outlier updated them a bit since the first batch - they have new sealed bearings that spin better and should require less frequent maintenance, and the body has been reshaped a little for better self-leveling. Pins are now M4 with smooth tip. I never had problems with stepping on the wrong side...
