Frame kinematics that require stuffing air cans full of volume spacers and are a big no-go for coil shocks? Hmmm, I feel like we have been here before.

That sounds an awful lot like they actually didn't get the leverage curve they wanted. Nothing wrong with designing a frame to work with the natural progressivity of an air shock, but if you use all the volume spacers in the air shock you spec stock, you probably would be better served with a more progressive leverage curve.

Madrone has released a DH version of their JAB derailleur, here are the highlights (you can also check our review of the regular version if you want): --------------------------------------------------- Derailleurs That Deliver The DH Jab is bomb proof, adjustable, and rebuildable. Dial the clutch in, rebuild it after a crash, and have full confidence in your drivetrain. Durable & Precise The Jab is precision machined from high quality materials like 6061 and 7075 aluminum and stainless steel. We apply a little bit of extra material in critical areas so it is stiff and durable. If you really want to beef up...

TRP DHR evo lever / Maven Base update. I set these up with maxima mineral oil and Shimano BH90 hose, and just a simple Shimano style bleed cup bleed after pushing oil through the lines. I also did a comprehensive piston massage procedure. I did one shuttle day on the setup, and impressions are that this combination is quite good. The lever stroke is very acceptable, bite point feels well defined and does not wander or pump out at all, and the maven power is also there. Good modulation, as you would expect from TRP lever. I've got the stock...

I've posted this in the racing and team threads too, but I figure it goes here as well. Full Honda DH team vibes from back in the day, here's a first taste of what Antidote Solutions is set to bring to the downhill racing table (link below). We will also have more info including the technical details to reveal at the Loudenvielle World Cup. Fun times ahead! Yeah, that was my bad. I should have put a pic with it! Was hesitant cuz not Spesh but appreciate the follow up. I still need to write up a bike check on here. In the meantime, here’s a pic of it from high country season. It’s had some parts changes over the years and more coming at it soon. This is about where it’s at currently (now has HR3s F/R) . Love this thing. It’s everything it shouldn’t be. And everything I want it to be. Overbuilt Tallboy V4- and VAN HALEN

It's not so much that 2 layers were added, its that now both of the 2x67epi carcass layers are now extend ontop of each other under the tread cap (before it was just one layer that extend to the end of the lap.

I’d love to see a shoot out of trail bikes using the same linkage designs. It would really interesting to start to dig a bit deeper as to what sets them apart - quality control, kinematics, maintenance, etc etc.

Zerode are launching a new frameset, looks like two travel variants, 160 and 140mm. Shadow and Shadow Trail. 450mm chainstays on the large too. Internal frame storage too. Curious what the kinematics are. Looks pretty cool imo! https://zerodebikes.com/products/shadow-origin Rob continues his streak of only launching bikes like a month or two after I buy something else...

This may not always be the case, but a lifetime bearing warranty often brings an incentive for the manufacturer not to have to supply 20 sets of bearings per frame, so they design and spec better. Frames with bearings in linkages are my preference provided they are quality - not much point having bearings in linkages if the pivot axle is wearing a groove in your frame. In my 4 years on an Arrival I have replaced one set of bearings and ridden a lot in loads of conditions. Bearing quality, bearing seat tolerance, and frame alignment are important. I...
