Basically if you struggle with side knob roll the DHX is for you. If you don’t and the DHF works for you, keep enjoying the classics. The DHF is still a super fun tire in the right conditions, the DHX just delivers more consistency at high loads and high speeds, so if you don’t have these conditions the difference between the DHX and DHF would primarily be the smaller transition to the side knobs and a bit better braking for the DHX

When Maxxis releases more trail friendly versions, how does this tire compare to a dhf exo that does great over most of the terrain I ride? Would it just clog a little easier comparatively and roll faster?

Love my 29 dhf max Terra on my all mountain / trail bike here in the mid Atlantic. I love it less than the 26 in downhill casing dhf I had way back when. It's fast, it corners, yes I've washed out. It works great in dry and hero dirt and I can ride through mud and it sheds. What's...

So basically a version of the Spesh Command Post BlackLite that works? (I know you're talking about a separate component but to me it makes sense to integrate into a dropper so it can share a remote/battery)

The pivotless variant is the Phoenix which is a flex tail and thus a DW5. But it's flexing instead of pivoting. A pivot is technically needed. A 5bar layout won't really work. Arherton bikes do have the pivot and are named DW6.

I'd buy it being an intense but their mules are typically aluminum - would be very close to production. Also, don't the dw6 bikes have solid rear ends without the rear pivot of a horst link? Is this an 8 bar? What even is this?
