Someone here had to have predicted DJI's entry into the ebike motor market right?? In hindsight this is the most obvious thing ever. My bold prediction is that Shimano will eventually exit the motor market. A bike component/fishing reel company with the slow Japanese engineering philosophy (which is why I like them for the record) just can't compete with Bosch and DJI in terms of speed or technical/engineering. Same prediction but double for SRAM Powertrain. Raise your hand if you've never seen one of those motors in person.

I would think the rate of progression in ebike motors has got to be a product manager nightmare.. You start a new bike project with the latest, greatest, bestest motor on the market.. Half way through the development process, someone comes out with something new that makes the system you chose seem like old news... So, your new bike is viewed as off the back on the day it launches... I'll take jobs I'm glad I don't have for $100 please..

The "only shifts at the ramps" thing is a myth that SRAM isn't going out of their way to correct. There is no sensing of position, torque, or anything else going on -- so it's simply not a real thing. It was just rate limited to make sure us hoons didn't blow up chains too quickly. The existence of Transmission mechanical groupsets is evidence enought that you can bang shifts as fast as you want and things are hunky dorry.

Seems odd that the rest of their stuff is Canfield CBF..then they do a ti crab link??? Ti CBF would be on brand. This looks like they just had some rando Asian factory knock up catalog ti crab link.

I wonder how many people freaked out when Kaz said something to the effect of, "It's funny when people in the chat refer to Vital as the other site.. Like you can't say their name here.. We don't care if you visit more than one site. In fact, you should. Get another opinion before spending your money..." This was on the podcast within the last few weeks.

I prefer Vital because people are allowed to have different opinions here—most people seem to remember we’re just talking about expensive toys for grownups on this site. I can’t go to pinkbike anymore because of the holier-than-thou attitude on all topics, and if you don’t agree you are treated like a leper. I don’t have extreme opinions by any means, but it feels like I do on PB since everyone’s reaction there is so vitriolic. Thanks for being real, Vital.

I do not see how they jump from $13,000 to $20,000? Maxima's are $1500 a set. electringWings are $1000, Podium is $700 more than 38, the Hydra2 are no different in price than DT240 DEG. Sounds like they are charging full premium over the "base" S works Levo build. Kind of shady.

Bosch does not allow third party batteries so it is probably a 600w. Weird that bikes that come with Bosch looks a bit outdated after you see the form factor of DJI equipped bikes.

I can't help but wonder how much of the TMD is a placebo effect.. The Pink Bike article that left 2 riders not being able to tell a difference was interesting.. Factor in the mud fest they're dealing with this weekend combined with the wide variation off hits they see, what do you tune it for? I think James Stewart summed it up best.. Racers are mental midgets. If they believe it's faster, it will be.. We've all heard Jordi talk about how simply wiping down a shock made it feel way better to some riders..

Except most people aren't that convinced they actually do that much good anyway. So the main benefit to the consumer (bling factor and showing off in the lift line) would be nullified if it were concealed in a seatpost.

Spotted over on Pinkbike -- Ronan Dunne running his tuned mass damper in a novel location. (More like a tuned ass damper, am I right? Sorry, I'll see myself out.)

I think it should be time to gatekeep. I've already been calling out creators using AI, I wouldn't be opposed to calling out people who take free stuff from Lewis.
