This is the best meme I have seen on this site since I joined. Currently have 10 bikes and 3 project frames in the house that I'll get to at some point in the next 15 years of which 9 are mountain bikes, and two of the ones that aren't are technically mountain bikes.

I thought it was very brave of Ebruner to be vulnerable and share how many bikes he and his wife have. It can be tough to come clean. 5 bikes between wife and I, and yes I agree with every word this guy says. All my rear wheels are 148 boost axles, makes it easy when.... 1. One needs to be trued/serviced 2. Rim cracks at the bikepark 3. Biking trips I just bring an extra ready to go rear wheel I will also likely never own anything superboost, and if I get a DH bike I'll find one that's on 148 (frameworks/forbidden etc.)

Well the bad news is that I don't know what to tell you, and the good news is that I have nothing to prove, nor nothing to gain for convincing you. I have a lot of mountain bikes and so does my wife, 6 between us. Everyone of our bikes has sram brakes with metallic pads, 200mm hs2 rotors and the same sram drivetrains and sram dt350 hubs on every wheelset save one. There are two extra floater wheelsets between all of the bikes. I think it may actually be more important for me to be on the right tires...

They didn't dimension the other lip... it could be 6.5 mm wide. But not making dumb machine shop assumptions, it's approximately 36.5 mm wide on account of that 3.5 mm dimension actually being at a slight angle. I took the profile and traced it on my computer really quick. Going off the 30 mm dimension being correct, all the other dimensions are quite close to their callout. That's some next level rounding or just straight up making it up.

Well that math doesn't instill much confidence. 37mm must round up to 40mm...

I don't even like playing the "Who has a 148 rear wheel I can borrow [with my preferred freehub interface and/or a cassette of similar size and # of speeds that's compatible with my chain]?" game. I don't think I would like the 157mm SuperBoost version of that game.

Respectfully, it's more accurate to say " Pro tip, your super enduro will absolutely be acceptable for DH trails." No matter how good long travel single crown bikes are these days, there's still no replacement for displacement.

Yeah I think it is a selling point that nobody ever really uses. I don't think more than a handfull of people across the world will be converting their rallon from enduro rig to a DH rig for a park weekend on an even semi-regular basis. Are people really going to get the different links, shock, fork, and maybe wheels/tires just for a couple of park weekends a year? And if you're actually going to a park more often I'd say its easier to just own a decent DH bike. IDK man. I'd say it's a way bigger win for...

Just keep the dual crowns on tbf. The major thing about DH bikes isn't that they necessarily pedal bad, it's that they don't accommodate dropper posts a lot of the time. Combine a regular dh bike with the ability to run a dropper and some ever so slightly more conservative geo, then you're on to a winner. People won't care that it weighs a ton when they're riding the bike equivalent of a shire horse.
