Before this goes the wrong way: Some commentators are plainly frustrated rather than hateful. It becomes clear if you allow for that perspective when reading the respective comments. To stay with the example: I would love the Grip X to be great for as many people as possible. Really cool. I understood (italian is pretty good but technical stuff goes over my head) the goal is to optimize suspension performance for every phase of cornering- opening compression under braking, back to neutral/baseline while rider is neither braking nor pedaling, then stiffening compression when the crankset is under forward load to maximize forward drive. I.e. theoretically providing gains on both corner entry and exit. Proper active suspension system.

So my first thought was no, a typical flip chip wouldn't make a big enough difference to be worth it, but on second thought yes you could do it, and here's how it could work: A standard Horst link rear triangle has the brake caliper and the rear axle mounted to the seatstay, which allows the brake caliper on this image to stay relatively level as the suspension compresses (instead of rotating in orientation around the rear axle as the rear suspension compresses) keeping the anti-rise value low, typically somewhere in the 50-80% range. It's not really true that FSR...

My two cents on anti-rise... First and foremost, it depends on the trails you are riding. There isn't a universal value that's best on everything. Low angle trails, especially one's where you're trailing the brakes to maintain speed, favor low anti-rise. On the other hand, steep trails and/or trails where you're hard on the brakes favor higher anti-rise. Sure low anti-rise can make for more active suspension, but it's impossible for your suspension to be active at all when it's fully extended. Having the rear go to full extension also really messes up geo usually when you're in a scenario...

I've seen the exact same thing in 40's multiple times as well - if you've cleaned, greased and torqued the bolts correctly then the only other thing I would try is tightening the headset further - that is a super common issue where there bearings don't have quite enough tension and causes a lot of issues so its worth a try.Tighten the preload enough to make the steering tight then back it off just enough that its smooth to turn again. It's really hard to overtighten a headset bearing but you would be surprised at how much movement and flex...

1- MaxxTerra DHX DH casing should be in the next 1-2 months. Other pattern DH casings in Maxxterra in the fall, or end of year at latest. 2- the grade of nylon was changed for the new DH casing compared to DD. The ply overlap has also changed, DD has 4 layers under the tread in most locations, where the new DH has 6 layers consistently out to where the under tread overlap meets the sidewall protection. This ends up giving more under tread protection compared to the old 2x60tpi DH casing by around 30% in a plunger force test...

I had to chew on that sentence structure for a couple minutes. seems like 'ebike = not core' is the jist One thing I will say, as an anti e biker guy, is almost ALL the guys who put in the most work for trail maintenance now ride eebz. And they get a fcuk ton done. So yeah, not very core, not for me, but there are a ton of dudes using it as a tool to do the most core thing imaginable. Credit where its due.

Raleigh going under as part of this is a real kick in the teeth. It’s a big part of British industrial and cycling history, it was once the biggest bike company in the world with a huge footprint in Nottingham. Growing up everyone wanted a Raleigh bike for Christmas. I do hope they can find someone to take it on, the name holds real cultural significance.
