These are two options on Ali for something similar to trickstuff lever. $60 for a full set of brakes is pretty wild. IIIPRO IV4R 4 Piston Disc Hydraulic Brake MTB AM DH Bike Brake 82/145cm CNC Tech Mineral Oil for Mountain XC Climbing Bicycle - AliExpress ZRACE M1 X2 / X4 Mountain Bike Hydraulic Brake,Full CNC Lightweight, Oil Pressure Disc - AliExpress 18 Personally, I prefer the lever feel of shimano to trickstuff or lewis, but to each their own. I did just buy some Maven bronze calipers to throw on my XT levers / shimano BH90 hose, so I'll...

You have my interest, as I've been contemplating a set of budget friendly stoppers and reading up on the various shigura setups people have cobbled together over the years. I've been wondering what other MC+lever options might be out there that could pair well with MT5/MT7s. Are you running Lewis levers or one of the other Ali options? There are...

Been running the same AliEx maxima copy levers with (first DB8'S) and now magura MT7 calipers with Tektro mineral oil. No issues whatsoever. No noise. No fade. No wandering bite point. Just budget friendly, strong brakes.

why do they need to release something new? geometry is still spot on, the only thing i would change is shock orientation to increase dropper insertion. oh and a motor version of course

I've posted a story last week how Keith's personal prototype was stolen, he said only the swingarm is new to test some things, from the photo it didnt really look any different. There were some pictures from some time ago where it looked like it could house UDH. Thats what I remember. I always had the idea Banshee would not release a new bike without serious improvement and with present generation its just hard to do that, their bikes are just as relevant today as they were when released in 2019...

I really liked the lever feel and power on my DB8's with HS2 rotors, but there are definitely people in the comments and in this thread who disagreed: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/hydraulic-disc-brakes/sram/db8-5… 100% agree that the stock organic pads on the DB8's need to go immediately in the trash. I think a lot of the reason why people who hate DB8's hated them is because they came stock with organic pads and those people never thought to switch. The organic pad is unrideable for me, and really only valid for beginners, intermediates, and for customers buying them on an city ebike for commuting...

I'm 5'11 with long legs and a neutral ape index, and I've been thinking that my ideal bike might be a medium Kavenz VHP16 with +30mm chainstays and a 50mm or so riser. I think the 126-127ish wheelbase at sag would feel manageable through tight stuff, and the seated pedaling position can be addressed through stem length and the seat...

Testing is ongoing....having a ball...such good fun...the Kenevo is currently running the Fox40 27.5 wheel in the full 200mm travel with a Vorsprung smashpot coil conversion which is superbly smooth and buttery...this along with the link secondary suspension gives 255mm of next level overall compliance and capability....soooo confidence inspiring and good fun. Data collection is a V3 Pro BYB telemetry system which is superb....a really capable bit of kit which I am still learning. A quick look at some data above....this is a single event hitting a very large bump at around 44kph.....I have three travel sensors on the front...

Yeah I feel like the belt drive positives (quiet, low maintenance) don't outweigh the negatives (belts breaking/derailling, parts availability, mud performance, etc). The chain setup seems simpler to me but I've never had a belt bike, I've only ridden one around a bit that was way too big for me (Adam Prosise's one-off Reeb Brewser). I always run a waxed chain on all my bikes, helps a lot with the HP idler bikes especially. Gearbox drag is definitely a thing, but for my long travel bike I think the tradeoff in durability, weight distribution, and suspension performance is worth it...

Short answer is I don't know. David wasn't sure (his fork) nor was I. We both thought it was 52mm but I was able to compare to a friend's who is in fact 52 and the crowns were different, so now I'm thinking 48, which jives with the turning radius being so...bad. As to if I noticed the answer is "not really". There was already a lot of change happening, so I'd be lying if I said I could feel a few mms of offset change (assuming its 48). That said, I'm sure if I had many crowns to test...

Was thinking of making a spreadsheet with all bikes in all sizes that’s ongoing and added to that shows all the ratios for everyone to have access to and be able to scope Be fun to put pros set ups in it as well for nerding and stuff like that

The Kavenz could actually fill both roles with the proper linkages, two shocks and two forks. Ideally, probably wheels as well. They also intend to release +30 dropouts in short(ish) order, if their socials are to be trusted. That would let you get even longer out back, should you desire that. You could then direct the savings to sick, custom-tuned...
The only two meat bikes that fit this bill that come to mind is a Kavenz VHP16 in its sagged position with the +20mm chainstay thingies and the Mistress Cycles GoodOnYa, which is a unique approach to geometry, and quite new and obscure. The new Forbidden Druid CorE e-bike also fits the bill. It would be cool to see a...

[edit by @sspomer - revel asked that the photo be removed] She's a looker. It's interesting to see that it has a vertical shock layout, unlike their other offerings.
