Yeah I'm changing the plans now, and to be honest - although I understand the rider's concerns and agree with many of them, what I don't agree on is the time they chose to bring their concerns to light. They not only affected Crankworx (whom they have the issues with) but they also negatively affected all of the spectators/fans that were at Rotorua. If they had these concerns why wait until the day of to completely shut down the event? They said in their statement "we put our bodies on the line" - and I agree, they do... but as...

Yeah, you bring up a good point. Outside of this kerfuffle, Crankworks slope events literally get no attention. Easy proof? Look back at all the event coverage on VitalMTB (yes, I looked). Its not that the mods don't post them, its that nobody cares. Literally, I see next to no comments, no likes, no...nothing. Those coming out of the woodwork here, where are you otherwise? Why are there zero forum posts about the riders, their gear, the tricks etc? Again, I'm not trying to take anything away from the riders, I'm just saying this is a completely non-relatable part of...

I love gold the look of it the taste of it the smell of it the texture. I love gold so much that I even lost my genitalia in an unfortunate schmelting accident.

Maybe they're just covering up a wate bottle cage. That's pretty cutting edge on a DH bike.

IDK, I think us nerds overestimate the average rider's capacity to care. I used to test a bit and rode uncovered bikes with no graphics - nobody ever asked me about the bikes, even riders on the same brand.

The popularity of bike diapers the past few seasons just cracks me up. How soon before the UCI bans them?

I just received tubes to make a couple of dozen frames. I plan on taking deposits/preorders toward the end of this month.

You can't do destructive testing on a frame you plan to race. The whole point is to test until you destroy the frame. I am sure they tested the design before building the race bikes.

I will reserve all judgement until we get WC level riders on the track cutting it up and digging up roots and rocks. This looks like it has some nice natural sections, steeps, off camber, and will cut up to be an interesting track. People wanted to talk down about Loudonville last year but I think it turned into a pretty good race track that racers were happy with.

I wonder how it works with MvdP being signed to a bike brand over a team. Does that mean what every team he rides on until '34 will be on Canyon too (a bit like Sagan and Specialized now I come to think of it).

Writing multiple paragraphs over a couple blurry screen grabs and followong it up with Pivot is trash leads me to believe you might be a little biased and can't be taken too seriously.

Here is the statement copied from the other site: After a preliminary investigation into the failure of the prototype frame, we have identified that there was no failure of the carbon tubes and the epoxy used to bond the frame was still intact on the carbon tube side. Unfortunately, virtually no adhesive remained bonded to the aluminum. We use a treatment on all the aluminum parts to protect from galvanic corrosion between the carbon and the aluminum. We believe there was a failure of this treatment to properly etch/adhere to the aluminum. We have additional frames that were made in...

They are doing their testing VERY publicly. Given they put their most prized 'possessions', the factory WC team riders, on the prototypes, says they must have quite some confidence in the product. That it failed is neither here nor there, as I recall there was somewhat recently a case of a GT's headtube snapping off, wasn't that a production bike? Guessing what went wrong based off some blurry videos and pictures won't solve the issue in any way, I'm sure Pivot received tons of pictures of the failure and it's likely the frame has been shipped back to Phoenix for...
