5/16/2024 2:24pm Literally any rider on the circuit want´s more events. And as soon as they go somewhere new (surprise, that happens when you want more) people start complaining that it´s not like what they are used to. Guess what - that what´s it about. I remember BF complainig about Leogang that it´s such a tame track and Atwill riding down with a hardtail. Surprisingly none of them won, while legit racers like the much loved Ratboy just got on with it, gave it all the got and won it. Guess what - that what´s it about.

5/14/2024 10:14pm Same, only with even more spacers... Can't wait to get my hands on a 55 mm (or more) rise bar. @chasejj that sounds... stiff. Also, regarding the limit, got more info on that? It's the first time I'm hearing that and it's not intuitive why that would be an issue... A bar is a bar is a bar is a bar? I mean a 20 or a 35 mm rise bar at 810 is going to have about the same leverage as a 55 mm rise bar at 760 mm. EDIT: scratch that, bar rise has almost no effect on...

5/14/2024 1:48pm Not saying my method is correct, but I’ve gotten good results by tuning compression for mid to large sized bumps and tuning tire pressure and casing for smaller, more chattering bumps. Rebound gets tuned to be as fast as possible while still feeling controlled and most importantly for me, the shock and the fork need to feel balanced throughout the...

5/14/2024 7:37am Well, generally speaking, people like racing things with wheels: bikes, motorbikes, cars in all forms of events (drag, drift, track, road...). I have done a few ebike races including one E-EWS, basically the only difference with a normal EWS/EDR is the ability to do 2x the climbing and thus way more stages. The round I did was 3k climbing on race day and both training days ahead of time. I also did some local enduro races which had an ebike class, those are a lot less interesting as you end up doing too little riding.

5/14/2024 7:36am Yeah, and theyre wrong lol. Fox went all in on light compression tunes, massive amounts of tokens in forks to generate support and huge spring forces to prevent bottom out. BK used to run 7 spacers in his 40. Its only now when they're starting to realise that you need a balance, and they had it wrong. The reason Ohlins came in with such high damping is because that's standard in motorsports, whereas for some reason, MTB used to have very low damping relative to other disciplines.

5/13/2024 9:22pm enduro seemed a supply-side endeavor, people racing the bikes we buy. Now we’re buying ebikes. It’s the same (as you said).

5/13/2024 7:31pm Here is Jesse's Strava - https://www.strava.com/activities/11390721124 - where is he "red lining" to the top of a hill? He's comfortably aerobic the whole time. I'm sure it was hard, but he's an athlete, it seems he handled it just fine. I suppose I just don't understand how putting more limitations on transfers has any impact on your (or anyone's) fandom. As I noted above, there are plenty of issues with enduro as a sport for fans, but making the race day go a bit swifter isn't one of them. BTW - I see 13 DNFs and 5 penalties in the...

5/13/2024 7:25pm From my POV, I like the move to tighter transfers. I've always felt we needed to put a little more emphasis on getting through the day a bit more swiftly and rewarding this kind of stamina a bit more. By not having any real pressure around the transfers, you create a culture of snail pacing the entire day to conserve energy, which I always hated. Made a long day even longer and didn't reward those who had the endurance all that much. Looking at results, it doesn't appear many men dropped out. The women's field looked to be a bit...

5/13/2024 7:23pm I'm curious if the men and women had different liaison times? They probably should. I like the stress of a timed liaison- it punishes mechanicals and mistakes- minimizing those is part of the game.

5/12/2024 5:36pm BME in windrock just finished, Rachel Pageau just won on a v10… is that enduro? Ok sometimes races only have uplifts, but it seems very unlike the spirit of enduro to race a full on DH bike.

5/12/2024 9:34am Just shows how much of a beast Rude is. The guy does not have the physique of an XC racer by any means, and he absolutely crushed it. Enduro as a race format isn't going anywhere, lots of really good races and series in the US. But the EDR/EWS whatever you want to call it is on life support.

5/12/2024 7:25am yeah even richie said the time gaps were tight, but wording of bex's complaint is a bit exaggerated IMO. it's the enduro world cup, the best of the best and fittest athletes in this category, not some weekend warrior for fun event, i think the pros should be challenged. all the usual top riders seemed to be able to manage it, so please stop with "violating human rights". but that's just my humble opinion from my comfy mourning table, so can't really say what went down on site

5/12/2024 7:24am Seems Bex needs to find some perspective, choosing to race a cycling event that no-one forced you to do, and one you can decide to stop at any time, somehow amounts to a violation of human rights? Get a grip. Last two seasons the professional EWS racers have been asking for big race days, especially as now all races are one day events. That's what they got here it looks like and racing was tight regardless. Look at how tight the men's top three was before final stage. Seems to me that those who prepared correctly for the season got...

5/11/2024 9:49pm How many racers finish something like the Erzberg Hard Enduro? Lots complained that Crankzilla was too hard but those that were trained for it did just fine.
