If we ignore the saint cranks current incompatibility with an Ochain, as there looks like a update for those on the way, I don't see how this has any advantages over the Ochain. They both accomplish the same goals with the the Ochain having its weight penalty at the BB instead of the rear axle. If anything this seems like a slightly worse version of the WRP DT Swiss ratchet modification.

I got a set in the mail yesterday, the sidewalls definitely seem stiffer than the used Assegais I have sitting in the garage. 2800g+ for an MX set. Kudos to Maxxis for finally dumping the plastic hang tags for cardboard too.

After my friend @jeff231 made a comment about the Highroller 3 being sturdier than his DHR2 at the Snow Summit Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series and Jason making a similar comment on B Practice I went down to a bike shop yesterday to see if there was a difference in the sidewalls. Sure enough, the Highroller 3 has what feels like one of those anti-thorn strips running from the bead to about 3/5th up the sidewall under the rubber. I'm assuming it's primarily pinch flat protection but Jason and @jeff231 both indicate that it offers more support in the tire...

If they cut their sponsorship of Enduro athletes, maybe they could afford Camille. It sounded like the budget cuts for this year were due to sponsors pulling their $ out of enduro, so it kinda makes financial sense. I don't think it would happen, but it's not totally nuts.

We knew it was coming, but still sad to see. I'm afraid I think we'll see a few more of these announcements before the year is out.😪

5 real reasons dh will not be the next f1/supercross 1). Riding bikes in the woods is for nerds and hicks 2). F1/supercross was broadcast on tv world wide before a production mtb was ever sold. Main thing that introduces a kid to something is their parents or their friend’s parents by proxy. 3). Not head 2 head racing. But speaking part of the reason dh is so god damn fun is because you race the clock/track instead of your opponent I very much hope that never changes. But head 2 head is so much viewer friendly than watching 20...

Wanker ^^^ How may F1 copied sports series are we going to have in time? Go karting, RC cars, jet ski, snooker, chess, equestrian.. Any time Suits get involved, the sport as a whole suffers. The beauty of our sport is, on their day any Top 50 rider can challenge a podium. Do we have to vanilla everything?

Asa will stay with Frameworks next year, but my guess is that he already signed for 2026 with another brand, a brand that already has the logo on the FW jerseys

My warranty experience was not to recent, but it was great. It was during the pandemic 2021. I had a SC 2018 Nomad that had a small crack in the inside of the rear triangle that i found when i was cleaning it. no idea how it happened. I think it was a rock strike, anyhow SC asked for proof of purchased and a lot of pictures. After a couple of days they approved warranty, because they no longer had any 2017 V4 Nomads rear Triangles; they offer a 2022 V5 Nomad which I was very happy to get. Over...

Ok, I've shit on Scott's internal shock designs on here forever and while if I'm being honest, the long travel bikes do look good, my minds not changing on the serviceability side of things and that their bikes are a consumer nightmare. Why are they pushing the internal shock thing so hard? Is it just to be different? Is it to have a selling point to some "needs the cool new thing" consumer out there because their bikes didn't have any real reason to buy them over another bike until they had a unique thing? That isn't actually that unique...

Shinook Liked a comment about product review Tested: Trickstuff Direttissima

More powerful than the V4? I don't really think so, at least not in my experience, the power delivery felt really similar although the V4s feel like the power comes on a bit earlier in the lever stroke. The Maximas need a bit more length in the lever pull to get the same power out, but it's real negligible. The power out of the Maximas wasn't mind blowingly higher than the V4s I ran, not in my observation anyway. The Enduro MTB test similarly showed higher power out of the V4s, but again only marginally.
