Interesting they are pricing it against the likes of EXT. I've always been a big fan of both EXT and Vorsprung, so it will be interesting to see how they both compare at this price point. I also heard Motion Instruments is releasing during sea otter as well, so that's going to be interesting for the suspension nerds among us.

It's collectively known that ESO wants to cut down the number of riders so they can have a TV/stream package that's more appealing. Fewer riders in the final so they can show all of them and shorter tracks so they can have cameras on the whole course. Semifinals are a way to sugarcoat this. The blatant unfair treatment towards privateers and smaller teams appear to be just cheap tactics to drive them out.

Honestly feel bad factory riders have to run that awful gold fork. Looks terrible on 95% of bikes.

Backwards compatible damper, just slide it into an existing 38, which can be bought new for very reasonable

Not a rumour but I spotted this outside the Marks Work Warehouse in Squamish last week. I haven’t been following closely but I’m assuming this is the team kit with trp and crankbrothers. Also had an unlabelled Maxxis tire on the front that I had not seen before (might be old news though).

Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

What really bothers me is that Lewis brakes CHOSE to MIMIC the way Trickstuff brakes look. Hope/Trickstuff/Intend/Sram/Shimano/Hayes/TRP all look pretty distinguishable, even between some of their own models. It's not how brakes are made is a secret anymore. You have a lever that pushes a piston that pushes fluid that pushes another set of pistons. Sure you can add cams here, adjustments there, play with leverage ratio, fancy cnc, parts, it doesn't really change the way brakes work fundamentally. Not discrediting the manufacturing of these brakes in any way. For a set of the more pricy Lewis brakes you can...

X games Had worldwide Recognition, non sports people knew about it or the people involved. Nobody outside of knowing full well what crankworx is, knows about slopestyle... They wouldnt even have a clue to who the riders were. Slopestyle is a Very small part of the bike world. small enough the sponsors dont pay heaps because........... its a small market that has no value..................
