About the manitou coil check the Reece wilson bike check at 8:30 mark where he bites his tongue hard when asked about the coil shock haha. Here is the link https://youtu.be/Dq6xGV7V1tw&t=510

Regarding that video. Clearly Manitou is working on a coil for their team and maybe the public. However, I think the shock that is on Reece/s bike in that photo that was posted earlier, could very well be a Vorsprung Telum. Manitou is probably behind on getting their shock delivered, and in the meantime, Reece wanted to get onto a coild ASAP. The Telum is extremely adjustable in terms of valving, so he's probably tinkering with that. That way, he can have Manitou apply what he likes from them Telum to the shimstacks/damping setup in the forthcoming Manitou. They've covering it all up, because it doesn't look good to be running that shock vs. the Manitou airshock that he clearly wants to get away from.

Yeah, pretty sure they are prototyping a coil Marra, just not yet ready to sell it. Honestly, the air Marra feels boutique enough already, given the not-often-at-all times I’m a seen it ridden compared to really boutique brands out there.
Really do think they need to pair the Dorado with a coil shock, while the air Marra Pro deserves a double-crown version of the Mezzer (something like a modern version of the Travis Tripple), good for 190mm with a 15mm axle. Think Intend’s Infinity EN is pretty lonely in this class! @Manitou are you reading this? :D

That isn’t Grice’s bike.  He’s borrowing one of last year’s bikes from a buddy until the fresh produce is ripe. (Source: that’s what he told me on the Shuttle )

DHSE show Griz stated that Neko was racing a bonded frame, so not one of the 2026 DH Production frames.

Wow, there really seems to be a resurgence in auto industry crossover product development lately...for reasons I can't really understand, given the stagnation in the bike industry.🤨 Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing someone drive up to the trailhead with a car equipped with Dunlop tires, Bilstein shocks, and Brembo brakes, with a bike on the rack with a matching setup. Maybe we can get Recaro to start making saddles, and Momo to start making bars and grips to keep the party rolling.

Yoshimura and Renthal ring a bell as the og triple og’s here.

Got no problems with auto/moto brands jumping on the bandwagon. But, sometimes their products suck real bad and you’re almost always paying more for that brand name.

Can’t wait till Gucci or Luis Vuitton come out with the highest bling at the highest cost with the worst performance that deep pocket nerds must have at all costs.

Could be as simple as the new upper links haven't been acquired yet from Taiwan?

I believe they're machined by the crew at Cascade Components.  Class guys over there!

I think brands like louy or gucci just slap their logo on normal brands stuff. Supreme “sold” skis that were just that logo on some volkl skis. It would be like a giant gucci down tube logo and gold flake headstone badge on a stumpjumper.

I skied past the magic carpet at mt local resort the other day and passed a drippy guy with louis button goggles and a Gucci northface jacket. Homie was casually just standing there wearing over 10k of stuff. His pants prob cost another several thousand too. He was middle eastern. Oil money don’t play.

That's harsh. Those middle eastern guys are well known for their taste.

aaaaaand mountain biking shines brightly again.

nskerb and veefour: you’ve just cut my screen time short for the day, so thanks in a way…does anyone here watch the YouTuber MTB Alan? He bailed on our hobby recently, hard to argue against any of his points. What assholes we are.

Consider me suitably rebuked for my flippant comment.

Rocky Mountain just posted "Big news dropping soon" with background pic of someone pulling a big one footed table in the desert.

I'm not sure what it is (Slayer is overdue for an overhaul. Maybe an actual dh bike again?), but I'm always stoked for news coming from Rocky.

Wonder if this is the prototype Jesse Melamed posted on YouTube

A LC2R slayer that is dual crown compatible and maybe even has travel flip chips would be very on-trend.

There was a Dyname 4.0 non horst link bike that was about to launch last year that didn't because of the issues they went through. I bet that's about to finally drop as it's been sitting on the back burner since their December '24 insolvency announcement.

Haha, I’m definitely jealous of all the hip drip. But my money can’t buy enough speed and coolness for my old slowness.

Thomas Genon is joining Rocky, so now I'm thinking that's the announcement coming and not a new bike. Ha ha

You gotta play the game...drop some hints.

We can play yes or no.

Is it a sub 50lbs dh ebike with 150nm of torque and a solid state 1500wh battery?

New solid state ebike batteries that charge in 5 minutes AND Rocky is installing ebike fast charging stations at the Dumpsters?

Use the notwithstanding clause - that shiz works on everything.
