Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
The fuck are we adjusting here?
Q-factor maybe?
Bearing preload?
Looks like it.
What updates to the Frameworks frame do you think we will see this next batch?
If I remember correctly they talked about it in the email sent a month or so ago with timeline details for the next round of frames. I'll have to go dig and look it up, I could be remembering incorrectly though...
Edit: SM and XL sizes. They said that more details will be announced before the bikes are ready. DH in feb, enduro in March. Thinking about getting one this round, wanted the enduro but timing didn't work out and ended up with a Madonna instead, super happy with that one, not sure if I want to snag a Yalla or stick with the FW.
FWIW I broke my Madonna last season racing DH with it, I know I need a DH bike, and while RAAW was by far the best company I have ever dealt with in terms of crash replacement cost and turnaround, new front triangle was shipped following day and arrived in Nor-cal 2 days later keeping me from missing the next race; the trump tax, tariff, was pretty brutal.
And even though an XL is added, it's still mullet only (DH and/or Enduro)? Don't exactly remember that part. Logic says it should be considering the carbon rear end...
There’s no head tube gusset on the right bike so I would guess that’s being considered. Neko had issues with the early ones cracking near the gusset, might be a net negative to have a gusset there if he went to butted tubes vs the plain gauge ones the early bikes were made of

Happy New Year!
Now that there are crank and hub based solutions, pedal kickback is essentially solved for people who want to dink with it. What will be the big 'problem' the industry 'solves' in 2026?
Variable leverage rate brake levers, so all brakes can be stronger than Mavens, but the leverage rate between the lever blade and the master cylinder can be dialed in with a screw on the lever to reduce it to personal preference or conditions.
Wait, pedal kickback was a big problem that needed to be addressed?
UDH2, with +/- 50mm of chainstay length adjustment, so everyone can just use whatever they want and shut up about it.
And then they can make UDH3, which is the same as UDH1 but uses a slightly different thread pitch for no reason.
just curious, What do you do with the suspension between shortest and longest? quite a difference in suspension geometry
For some riders, yes
It’s already started happening a bit but I think we’re going to see a big growth in “2 in 1” bikes like the new Orbea DH/Enduro bike.
Bike companies can cut down on SKUs and tooling costs while marketing the hell out of the “multiple bikes in one” angle.
Absolutely. Trek is already fast on their way to having a four full suspension bike lineup. They don't currently sell the Top Fuel in long travel mode from the factory, but if they added in a build or two there they'd essentially have everything covered between that and the Fuel E/M/LX except DH and XC race (notwithstanding the fact that there's overlap between categories). If they felt like it, they could merge slash and session but with the Fuel LX and the fall from grace of long travel single crown bikes that came with the death of enduro, there's probably little desire to do that - they'd probably just keep the session dedicated. Add in a revamped Supercaliber and they can cut everything else.
You could even get it down further if they did the thing that many other companies are doing by launching an XC race bike with an ever-so-slightly longer travel "trail" version that's basically the same thing (for example the new Revolver). This would cut the Top Fuel out and we're now onto three frame sets.
UDH2 is an entire rear triangle and contains 439 different shock, pivot, and axle mount points giving you a total of 457091 kinematic and axle path options.

Kolb’s V10. Assume that’s for fitting 27.5 on the XL frame
heard from a reliable source that andi has some problems with sizing/fitting to feel 100% confident on the v10. hope he get's everything dialed for the 2026 season!
You’d think being on one the biggest DH teams in the world that Santa Cruz would be able to knock up a aluminium prototype for him or prototype front or rear end to see how far off the bike he wants is from the production bikes.
It's just a parking brake.
Remember when Greg had the extensions on his bike? We know SC has some in house fabrication capabilities, see Danny's trials frame, but this is a better way to figure out what he wants before going down that road..
Sure, but y tho? If they can make a few different bolt on drop outs for him to try in different configurations, the testing process becomes faster and easier, not to mention less costly.
Edit: Brian, you seem like a smart guy.
Because those dropouts may have taken a day to design, minutes to tweak and can be made overnight. Means they can be testing something new multiple times in a week. Then commit to a one off rear aluminium triangle that may take more like 5-10 days to iterate once you're getting closer.
Schrader compatible valves! I will buy ASAP!
CoreCap - Remove the pains of Presta - BBB Cycling
Didn't Fillmore valves claim they wouldn't clog either? If you are using sealant, eventually you will get clogs at an opening. I probably change a core once a year. They are super cheap. Am I missing something?
