@CascadeComponents  Hey, I get access to a university machine shop from September and I'm interested in making something similar to that rear end for either my Vitus sommet or a custom bike I'm working on. Is there any way to get in touch?

You should share here, don’t keep us guessing what Cascade are telling you! 😁 Would be happy to know if such a conversion is possible not only for the Sommet, but for the Dominer as well! Wink

In the moving the needle podacst, Aaron mentioned that Canyon is doing a DH Bike launch the day after the Tenesse Nationals…

Now sure they'll do a nought-e if the druid is 150/160, that's similar travel to the dreadnought anyway

Jumbo Visma is testing the Graava tyre pressure system again for the cobblestone classic Paris-Roubaix. Is this something that would trickle down to the world cup downhill?

I don't think so. it was also used in gravel worlds and won with by Marianne Vos. But we are talking about 4+ hours events with varying long section that can benefits from different tire pressures. A DH world cup is not long enough for it to matters.

For cape epic or other marathon xc events ? probably but even world cup XC race are too short for such system to make a meaningful difference.

Nought-e would be a great name for an ebike.

Neko and Asa were talking about it on the downtime podcast. Looks like there is coming a new Fox Rampage Pro helmet this year. I think this is it on Anna Newkirk. Looks similar to the new Moto V3 RS helmet, kind of like the currect Rampage Pro looked very similar to the old Moto V3 RS helmet.

New rubber from Conti: https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/continental-launches-three-new-mtb-models-dubnital-trinotal-and-magnotal

Very curious to see what the gravel nerds think about the Dubnital, which replaces the Race King (for context: The Black Chili Race King 2.2" is the current darling of the gravel world because of it's low rolling resistance and durability)

Around the time that 1x11 were really getting strong, I remember a front shifter system (I think from Germany?) that used that exact same selector functionality, buy having sections of the larger cog tip in to pickup the chain without chaining the chainline

That new Intense Spider is a very good looking bike. I feel like they took style cues from Bold, YT, and maybe one or two others and put their own great spin on it. Very nice

crawled the forbidden site for this one.... new bike is looking mint and geo on poiiiiiint. what a good crab

I'm so into the geo on these man

yeah yeah, would love to take one for a spin! I feel they really nailed it, longer chainstay = more upright posture for shreddage. people have been getting too caught up in motor stats with the eebs lately but the geo is more important imo. I think mondraker has the eeb geo figured out too

I’m surprised it’s carbon. By the intense feature on the pinkbike podcast last month I was given the impression their new frames were all going to be metal.

So interested in this one. Going to have to test ride first to verify the geo claims.

Two concerns:

1) The motor system very well might have doubled in price due to the tariffs. On future orders anyways.

2) It seems so weird to have a bike like this without chain ring protection. I wonder if there is a simple solution that I'm not aware of?

I'd imagine that the assembly in Cumberland is a significant enough change to make the bike a Canadian product for importing.

Edit: Turns out these were assembled in Asia, forget I said anything

Let's be real, there's only so many ways to package a VPP. They're bound to look like at least one other bike.

Right?? Proper proportional rear center for the reach numbers. Geometron/RAAW level stack and wheelbases to boot. That thing would motor (literally) over BC chunder with ease. Surprised the sizes stop at S4 because that's a large.
