Diamondback Release was just a toptube mounted VPP layout. Esker Orion is a bit different.
Linkage design had the different chart for the previous Esker models with the same suspension layout:
it looks to behave similar to old top tube VPP layout but with less pedal kickback:
-High anti-squat at sag but drops off sharply after 50% travel
-High anti rise % at sag but also drops off sharply after 50% travel all the way to FSR % at full travel
-Flat spot in the leverage ratio curve in the first 30% of travel but a linear falling leverage ratio after 50% travel with no funky stuff at 90-100% travel.
Wasn't necessarily talking the squish numbers, just that I recall the Esker looking similar, just with straight tubing.
Did anyone notice on the recent PB pod with Intense that there was a pretty obvious new bike behind Steber? They mentioned it briefly, and it sounds like three new bikes are coming this year—the first launching at Sea Otter and the other two later this summer. From my view, it was hard to tell, but it looked like a new enduro/trail bike.

Are you talking about these? They seem to all be prototypes or design concepts to me
Intense axess pay to play. Is it really that difficult for teams to get the dollars?
Probably, especially now with how expensive WB and the UCI are trying to make world cups, and having to travel more for smaller races. This is probably better for the Race Talk or Team Rumors threads though.
Anyone know/want to guess what the stuff inside the brake arm is?
Anyone know/want to guess what the stuff inside the brake arm is?
I would guess a load cell / strain gauge setup to measure braking force separate from fluid pressure. More reactive as brake force changes with brake pressure and wheel location. Could be just to monitor rider input could also be to measure how different kinematics effect brake force and suspension travel.
Probably just a 2 piece bar for length adjustment. First V5 protos had a similar arrangement on the vertical link between the two shirt links. The whole platform overall is designed very modular (when in proto form) to enable them trying out lots of things.
Regarding load sensing, there doesn't seem to be a cable running from the black part. And there doesn't seem to be a DAQ box on the bike.
the discounts on the sponsors gear / parts is actually kind of interesting too. makes for a better value proposition IMO.
All i know is Joe’s team’s “only fans thing” is less insulting to my intelligence than the press releases that dropped from Temecula around the same time…
If that Axess site was for Frameworks 5-dev, i’d sign up in an instant.

Pretty cool idea. For some people’s spending habits just the discount codes could make it worthwhile. And for the family, friends, and fans of the riders it gives an easy way to financially contribute while getting something in return.
There have to be strings attached. There's no way 100 GBP a year makes it worthwile to have these discounts. One OneUp dropper posts offsets that with the discount they are supposedly offering...

Yeah it doesn't make sense imo. I could get this, then get EXT suspension, and come out way ahead compared to just buying straight from EXT.
Not necessarily bike innovation...but bike culture/enjoyment/spectating innovation, I think.
I'd be curious about how those purchases need to be made. Maybe that's in the T&C.
I probably can't walk into a bike shop and show them my login credentials and get 35% off a OneUp carbon bar. If those purchases are made directly from the manufacturer then a 35% discount isn't a big deal because a distributor and a bike shop/retailer isn't taking a cut of that sale. Especially if it proves to be effective and the brand can pull back a little on other marketing spending.
If I were a person who had the big idea for this a while back (it's easy to ride this trail and see the possibilities after someone else already cut the trail in), I'd make those discounts available only through a certain portal - on my own website - and maybe that 35-ish% discount could leave a little on the table for me while not cutting too significantly into the manufacturer's per-item profit. Plus it would give me the data to point at and say "we have proof of this many purchases motivated by our team's endorsement of your product." That could be a pretty useful bargaining chip if it all goes well!
Either way, I think it's cool. Fox Dialed and MoiMoiTV and BK and Ed Bull and Greg Callahan and Chazmaz and Ben Cathro and Theo Erlangson (sp?) and Matt Jones and Syd&Macky and Danny Hart (and others I'm sure but I don't have their names top-of-mind right now) have all proven to some extent that people want better coverage and more involvement in bike racing. I'm sure Intense (or whomever spearheaded this) sensed there was going to be a point at which people were going to be happy to pay for their team-specific access to DH racing coverage rather than WBD's access. A couple promises of extra content plus some discount codes on the side and you have the makings of something cool, I think.
I wonder if the market is ready for this adjustment in how it watches DH racing or if this Intense Axxess thing is a little early. I'd pay $100 a year to have team-specific "insider access" to racing for a team. Hell, I could probably do two teams if any discount codes offered were applicable to any purchases I planned to make.
I want to know what this is for and why I didn't think of it.

It's clearly to change bar flex characteristics mid-run. Maybe if you were an elite athlete like the rest of us here, you'd understand these things.
New USD Fork mentioned before?
Looks more like a test rig for frame fatigue/strength?
You are right, thanks

I think that frame looks very similar to a Mondraker Podium.

Skid meter. High score wins.
Magura just let us know that the Gustav Pro is now available aftermarket in addition to the OEM spec launched last year: https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/magura-gustav-pro-first-edition-now-available.
