What do you guys mean by light mount? Having a gopro mount is enough for me in that regard, but I did print a ton of adapters to adapt various lights to gopro mounts...
Agreed, what's wrong with the ubiquitous GoPro mount? They're cheaper, smaller, lighter, and more stable than the integrated options that Smith and Bell used to offer.

It's not about me not valuing my safety, but rather about the cost of stuff. So many helmets that go on sale on a regular basis, there's no way I'm spending $240 on any helmet (maybe a full face?). When I find something that fits properly, I'll wait until it goes on sale. For example, POC has 40-50% off sales on a regular basis. Why would I pay full price?

The cost of many helmets has become quite high, looking at the new Forefront 3 and Fox Speedframe RS (both over $300 CAD). My biggest qualm with new helmets is the lack of a built-in spot to mount a helmet light. I have the Forefront 2 that needs replacing, but I am struggling to find something with this feature. I love the look of the new non-RS Fox Speedframe (and its safety rating), but I emailed asking if they made an in-house light mount, and they directed me to a Blackburn gift guide. At least most new helmets come with a glasses storage solution, which I can get behind.
I do wonder about the difference in safety between the independently conducted Virginia tests versus taking Smith's word. I think it was mentioned a couple of pages back that you only need to send in 5 helmets to get them tested?

I've noticed the same thing. The last helmet I had with a dedicated light/camera mount was a Bell Sixer, and that's been several years. On my last couple helmets, I put a GoPro mount on the under side of the visor for an Outbound Hangover light. It's compact enough that it doesn't impair my vision and light enough that it doesn't pull the helmet or visor down.
I believe the reason helmet companies no longer do manufacturer-made mounts on the top of helmets is safety/liability. Adding something to the top of the helmet can drastically change its safety performance, and I bet the legal team said no more.
BTW I just use a glue on go pro mount and attach whatever light I want.
Not a dig at Vital but more at stem makers, since so much emphasis there is on the look of the stem (we do look at them a lot during climbing), please list the length that is pictured. The 60mm is kinda obvious but sometime the look of the 50 and 40mm option varies greatly and can be hard to spot which is which in press photo without captions.
Won’t let me post a pic but I guess sram are releasing the colourway that’s been spotted on the motive brakes.

$980 CAD for the set and I would assume it’ll be the same package deals as the maven ultimates that were released a while back:

These are a limited edition in the same way as the red ones were, you'll get all the same things with these as you got with the red ones. Probably more money than the red ones were #inflationstation

Anyone ridden and Esker? I wasn't a fan of their (or anyone's) swoopy carbon frames, but IIRC the handful of reviews I saw were generally favorable. The new frames are available in either Ti or aluminum. Geo looks good. Pricing is reasonable.
I know this concept was discussed a few pages ago. I appreciate the effort to create something that doesn't exist. I also don't mind the extra cable at my cockpit for a mechanical dropper. I guess if you really want electronic/wireless without having to run the new gen of wireless droppers that look terrible with the battery at the collar, this is for you haha

no need to reply to this or talk more about this in tech rumors...just giving you all a head's up. if there are problems, hit our support forum thread)
- any post/comment with 10 downvotes or more will be hidden with option to show (threshold can be adjusted, but 10 downvotes must be pretty bad around here LOL)
- it is now possible to block user posts, replies, comments.
to block a user
- roll over their avatar on the left and you'll see a "block" option. if you block someone, their comments/posts will be hidden with an option to show the comment. if you want to unblock them, just rollover avatar and unblock.

The angle the clevis connects to the rear triangle is definitely weird, but if I remember correctly esker uses a DW design called Orbit or something so I doubt the side loading was completely ignored.
Correction : the platform is called Orion suspension, marginally more pretentious

Looks awesome, but with so many dropper length options and shims isn't it possible for everyone except freakishly tall riders to get their max drop? Personally wouldn't sacrifice 28-35mm of drop (Type A and B bikes Santa Cruz, Trek, Spesh, etc) and $180 just for electronic actuation. (could be good on 170mm+ park bikes where at max drop the tire might hit the seat tho)
Electronic droppers feel like blockchain. A solution desperately searching for a problem.
Give me a wirelessly actuated Siwtchgrade and now we're talkin.

To be fair, the red ultimates they released in that package with four rotors, that sweet zipper rotor bag, adapters, both types of pads, and a Pro bleed kit was an insane value. It was probably $1100 worth of stuff, so I would be shocked if they didn't raise the price if they choose to sell another bundle. It cost the same thing as buying just brakes.

I vaguely recall they made 1000 of the red. FWIW
