The better feature for you sounds like it will be the new charger. Pull your battery and put it on 80% mode for the winter. Giant has been including that feature in their admittedly flawed chargers for quite some time.

As mentioned above the National based racing is looking positive globally. Here in NZ, we are having a constant increase of class sizes for both men and women and hard cut offs for entry to be able to manage rider numbers. The change at the top may not affect the racing on a country level, but the uncertainty will influence the ability of riders look at the sport & see if there is a real option to create a lifestyle beyond your boarders. As deeboy mentioned I think the categorical changes will have the most impact. As Brian Park has pointed out, if you reduce the field to 30 and make races super tough to get into then what happens? Does it make the local series thrive with an injection of most of the riders from spot 30 onward? I feel like here...

When I did this I checked deep into the numbers. The axle to crown for a DH fork is only about10-15mm more than the rxf36 m.2 I had on there...so it screws with it slightly (.1 inches higher BB, 1 degree slacker HA. I actually wanted the slacker HA, and got 30mm of more travel out of the front end. Bars can be exact same height. Now this is t a perfect bike by any means. Heavier for pedaling up for sure, sucks for technical climbing. But climbing fire roads in this thing and having a blast for “smashy bike”...

4.2%... that makes me want to get a free bike for every female I know out there just to make this sport less of "rich white dude" sport. Interesting that Sram and Avid are separate in brakes, I mean even if you combine both they still get to somewhere around 18% which doesn't hold a candle to shimano's 41%. Maxxis is super interesting most shops in my neck of the woods tend to stick to the house brand tires. If they're a Trek shop it's bontrager if specialized specialized and so on. Eddie blew that knee up years ago, just finally got around to getting it fixed (I think after doing it in a few more times) he talked about it on I believe the downtime podcast he was on.
