I don't think it's a one-piece suit, I think it's a skin suit. The word "suit" doesn't mean one-piece, it means that all the pieces of a garment form one unit of garment. For instance, a men's formal suit can be a two-piece suit (slacks and jacket) or a three-piece suit (slacks, jacket, and vest). One suit comprises multiple pieces.
The UCI rule bans "jerseys designed for road cycling, skinsuits, orone-piece suits" The key word here is "or." "Or" means that any one of those three things are banned. Is it a road jersey? No. Is it a one-piece suit? No. Is it a skin suit? I think it is. It's clearly designed as a system. And seeing as the suit is clearly designed to be skin tight and reduce aerodynamic drag, it's a skin suit.
And to be clear, my beef isn't with skin suits in downhill, it's with rules. Either enforce the rule or get rid of the rule. It would be lame if the UCI allows the allegedly-not-a-skin-suit skin suit for round one, it has a big impact on results and standings for the series, and then they react and ban it for the rest of the year. The first race is going to have an asterisk on results for the rest of time, which is a little unfair for everybody who worked hard to be there.
Its not a skinsuit, just because they list one piece clothing separately doesn't mean that a skinsuit isn't one piece also, things can fit in multiple categories at a time, Skinsuit = Road bike clothing, Skinsuit & One piece clothing. The seperate mention of one piece clothing here is included for things like dirtsuits.

Does someone want to go back and find my post where I predicted that this was going to be the same as the Norco, but with the ABP?

Skin Suit ≠ Road Bike Clothing.
A skin suit is... just that. No Zipper, no hem-line, no features normal to cycling attire.
Skin Suits are currently prohibited in UCI Road Cycling.
'Dirtsuits' - can someone autocorrect this weird bowl of Cheerios??

Then you obviously should have said TT instead of 'Road' because your statement still stands as incorrect.
How does it stand incorrect? My statement was that Skinsuits are road cycling attire, TT is categorised as road cycling by the UCI, so skinsuits are road cycling attire.
Just because something exists in a subcategory doesn't make it not part of the parent category.
Anybody know anything about the e*Thirteen Sidekick hub? Sounds like some interesting tech.
Haven't heard anything officially, but I'm curious too. Seems like it could be similar to how a free coaster works, where a mechanism disengages once spinning to allow a built-in amount of slack, but that's just a guess.
When we get to page 666 Im going to give everyone a little bit of hell and start asking questions about tire treads, brake modulation, brake pads, calipers, ebike battery specs. All of it.

I remember a post on here around the end of last season where someone described what he saw when the cover was removed. I think they said there was a small motor that adjusted the shock preload.
Ah, yeah, looks like stiffness tuning is the next area of gains for mountain bikes. Lew Buchanan posted this the other day (not sure if I didn't get it here actually, forgot where I got the link from, sorry): https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6Jfh2utF8t/

I was under the impression that after a while most E13 hubs have a disnengaging /disintegrating ratchet system.

I never made it long enough to unlock that feature on mine, the rubber seal did quite the opposite. Saw these new ones at Sea Otter though and they seem promising.
That new Fox kit is a clever attempt to take advantage of potential loopholes as to how clothing rules are worded in the UCI regulations for mtb (see page 26). My personal opinion is that it violates the original intent as to why the regulation was written but is probably compliant to the verbiage of the rule.
As this is a UCI World Cup event, I expect the PCP and the UCI-appointed TD to provide their opinion on the matter as soon as this particular kit is brought up in a managers' meeting or by another team. As this is a potentially unfair advantage to teams not on Foxhead clothing, I fully expect this topic to have already been brought up to the commissaire panel.
I hope someone at the event in Fort Bill can give this forum a scoop as soon as a communique or ruling is sent out.

the usual difference between goals and tasks, when everyone focuses on task and forgets the goal.
they forbid the "tasks" so everyone could create new "tasks" to work against the targeted goal :D pretty much like any (small) buisness where everyone seem to be super concerned about the tasks/problem and forgets the solution/goal behind it.
Good job the track isn’t mega high speed where covering lumpy bits of your bike in plastic would give you an aero advantage

Whyyyy does Cube do this? Whats the point of a horst link if you're just adding a floating brake?
Time trials fall under road cycling by the UCI, and skinsuits are most definitely not banned for them.
For the wetter areas of the world, dirtsuits are onesies for mountain biking to shield you from...dirt.

Your definition of a skin suit is not the one that the UCI uses.

These are all examples of what the UCI consider to be a skinsuit and are legal in Road/TT/Track races.
This forum is FIRING and I am so happy for it.

I wonder if it’s using same tech as the Tairin hubs.

I can’t believe the fox skinsuit is causing so much drama when the Troy Lee “baggies” look like this
