Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Thanks, I read that as 2x individual pads.
Again, I have no motivation to move on from the TRPs on all my MTBs, but this is a pretty good value for a top level brake set.
So you’re telling me I need another couple credit cards???
Great to have choice
Is this one of the new Renthal colours I’ve been hearing about.
Or is it just an OE bar thats been reused on this build?
Yes,
and that if you want one, get in touch with Interior Suspension in Nelson BC, and prepay for one. Otherwise, itll likely be 2 years before you get one 5 a month is a pretty limited supply.
Its only money, you can make more tomorrow!
Holy cow. So we're talking about 2.5k freedom moneys if that is the case. Somehow I don't have a ton of faith in the fork for that price given how much their 11.6 shocks cost and performed compared to other boutique brands, such as EXT. Even a harder sell given the state of the market - fox and rockshox have sales going on forever.
Those look like the OEM bars.
typical sram, say one thing, do the opposite, next time they make a claim, say the opposite again
2.5 k for a fork is nuts
i own a 11.6 that I bought used, serviced for 650€
that was the best shock for the money
at the 1200€ full retail that was, I wouldn’t have
at the current 1900€ no way.
brilliant shock but it’s never gonna be that good
rs coil with a custom tune will be around what I paid for mine and work basically as good
fork I can immagine it won’t be x2 as good as a tuned fox 38 being way cheeper
have you ever heard the saying "if you have to ask how much something costs then you can't afford it'? That's Push's motto, they're all about exclusivity and outrageous prices are part of that. I'll stick with my Zeb with Smashpot, it feels amazing!
Fork looks like the new Marzocchi as well.
There's a shop in Portland (Can't remember the name.) that has a very service forward business model. They hardly sell any complete bikes. They sell coffee and beer and offer a more one on one experience with the mechanics. Sort of like a ladies hair salon where you build a more personal relationship with your mechanic.
Anybody can tell me what master cylinder diameter the Mavens have? DB8 should be the same 9.5mm like the codes, but multiple outlets mentioned that for the mavens the diameter was dajusted but they don't say to what or how much - maybe someone of you knows?
Besides that pulled the trigger and looking forward to test them, can compare them to Hope T4V4 and some Cascade North Forks with the RSC lever with the cascade cams.
They were reviewed at the other joint and were panned, especially so for the asking price.
It might be,
but the cost comparison from a mass market fork, thats been on sale for 4 years now, is pretty apples to grenades.
In talking to the aforementioned suspension tuner, who is certified for both Push, and Fox, his attitude was the quality (internals, machining, tolerances) were light years different between the products. Not to mention the rate of repairs (I can only assume he has scaled it in his mind) was vastly different.
So if you take some of that into account, the cost difference could be well justified. Mix in the local manufacturing, and all that hoopla, and its a reasonable purchase for some.
If I was dealing with monthly rebuilds of an X2, I'd prolly pay double to have a working shock.....Or a fork that doesnt creek
Interesting. I never knew there were any that were retail-ready. That review seems to have vaporized unless my Google skills fail me. When I searched for that photo, most of everything I read was from 2007. I saw a set in Whistler in 2004. Marzocchi booth on a single crown equipped Rocky Mountain RMX. Can’t remember who was working the booth that day, but he said they were the “best brakes ever.“
One here in Salt Lake as well! Laketown Bikes was my go-to before I started working in the bike world. They stopped selling bikes a few years back, moved into a retail space literally right across the street because they didn't need the showroom floor space, and the rent was much cheaper lol.
The Bronze and Turquoise one is a Reign SX. That one and the white/turquoise Trance are a little random IMO. The Trance Frameset and the Red Reign are pretty good looking though.
As the current owner of 2 Giants I wish they would go back to the (admittedly dated) look of pastel colors and 90's/early 2k moto style graphics. All the metalic colors they use nowadays remind me of car paint. I get a big time Lexus/Acura vibe from their designs nowadays. I feel like the lime green, or pastel orange Porsche vibe would have more mass appeal in this market, but I digress.
Could it be the better bolts fork control kit? Honestly not sure what the new MZ stuff looks like so you may be totally right
Definitely the Better Bolts kit and a Fox sticker on the fork, could be hiding something in the open though.

Portland Oregon may be the most oversaturated city in terms of bike shops I’ve ever seen. Even had recumbent only and e-bike only shops before e bikes were cool. Gotta do something to stand out and compete against some of the gigantic bike shops there.
Yep, that new Marz line up looks good. I wonder if they're going to have a coil option for the new one. They'll get money thrown at them if so.
Imitation and flattery and all that…
Say, wanna spill what happened with the CAST mount plate?
Were they already working on V2 when you guys presented your mount solution?
Something new from Intend:
Extra volume negative can by the looks of it...
@Onawalk Forbidden is a HP company, the Slash is an enduro racing machine and Norco is adding two models lower down. Not exactly overwhelming high pivotness across the board, there are more through headset routed bikes out there. Development cycles take a few years so the realistic picture will be known in a few years if high pivot really is the hotness above everything else or not. Wouldn't be the first hat I eat, but I stand by my comment that we won't see idlers en masse below enduro bikes.
Anyone else interested in the Maven Ultimate package because of the extra rotors/pads/bleed kit thrown in, but turned off from the red paint job?
I wonder if they will sell the ultimate kit in black soon.
I don’t think they will sell the kit in the normal colour. From what I heard there are only 2000 (1000 in europe) kits available and when they’re sold there will just be the normal lineup.
I’m too tempted in the whole package and the colour wouldn’t be too bad for me
IMO more brake systems should be sold like in a kit like this (similar to how drivetrain groups are sold). i did some quick math, that rotor selection retails for roughly $200 USD and the bleed kit another $70, that's almost half the cost right there.
the red finish is limited edition (one time run) for the launch.
Unsure if they ever made it to market, and that article does look to have been pulled. Granted, that was early 00's and since the product lost relevancy as soon as it landed they may have just saved server space since no one owned the brakes. They looked like a Grimeca brake from near the same era got beat with an ugly stick. And if you know, that's saying something. Maybe the review was why they pulled outta the game before they ever got into it. Comments were sure to have been scathing on looks and hardware alone, quadruply so when the asking price was $600/wheel.
