I've heard the Ohlins coil setup seals off the lower legs to effectively create an air chamber using the lowers. This would allow the lowers to function as an additional air spring to provide some bottom out support. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this? I've thought about getting the coil spring for use on my DH38.

New logo and font looks like trash. The old Ohlins branding is iconic and timeless. Whoever greenlit this redesign should be fired.

WalrusRider Added a comment about feature MRP Lift Damper Long-Term Review

The ultimate fork hack is buying a cheap take-off fork and put a Lift damper in it. That will be a better setup than any stock Ultimate Rockshox or Factory Fox fork and much cheaper.

My Kavenz has a 1.8 front center/rear center ratio. I’ve also ridden the same bike set up with a 1.93 ratio. The handling characteristics between the two setups is stark. Not as noticeable when it’s super steep but the 1.8 ratio corners way better. Front wheel grip is massively better in flatter corners. The 1.8 ratio setup is also more...

There are a few ways you can set up the Switchgrade. If you are tall, like your saddle nose pointed down, or never ride flat trails, you don’t need to use the middle position at all. I have the climb position set to my usual saddle position. This puts the descend position in a nice place despite my typical nose-down saddle position. This kind of setup might be terrain and body shape dependent but it works well.

iceman2058 Liked a comment about Feature Vital MTB Staff Build: Starling Murmur

Yes, that's exactly how it's set up with coil now. With the recommended spring rate from Starling (525 spring, I weigh about 190 lbs), there's a lot of support and no bottom out gremlins, and the bike is still impressively supple and comfortable in the rough. It's early days yet but so far, very happy with it both with coil and air.

Sweet bike! I’ve wanted to try a Starling for a while now. I’m curious about the rear suspension performance with such a linear bike. Do you just run it with a stiffer spring rate to give a strong mid stroke but maybe at the cost of a little suppleness at the beginning stroke? The simplicity of the design is very appealing and would be nice for all the wet riding I do.
