This is my hope; not just because Jesse and Rocky go together the chocolate and peanut butter but also because the whole team has such a great vibe and I'd be very sad if that were gone.
There was also a Honda Iron Horse team at the same time as the Honda G-cross team.
Also set up by Sven and Anka. the Honda sponsorship came from a guy we used to ride with who worked for Honda America in Torrance, can't remember his name. The lineage of the team was: mcdonald/intense->McDonalds/iron horse->Honda/Iron Horse->Honda/Turner. Duncan Riffle and Neethling both spent time on the team, IIRC
nm, dont want to sidetrack the post.
Rumour round up…
Jack Moir to YT (Also trying to employ a filmer for MoiMoi TV)
Veronika Widmann and Louise-Anne Ferguson to Nukeproof factory
Andi Kolb to Scott
Jesse Melamed to Canyon or Specialized or Starbucks
Jamie Edmondson to ?
Gracey Hemstreet to YT or Trek
New male rider to Pivot
Martin Whitely to Ghost
Meier Smith brothers to Giant
Ronan Dunne to Atherton (Poss Monster sponsorship?)
Jordan Williams to Specialized
Anymore I’ve missed???
Nukeproof just posted a happy birthday status for Ronan Dunne, "wildest man of the World Cup circuit" and showed BF Goodrich logo in the snap from Hardline. Does it signal the end for the Continental partnership and a full factory team next year with Sam Hill and Ronan Dunne
I’m going to bet that Moir is going to pivot not YT. Might be a million miles wrong but it’s silly season so F-it.
BF Goodrich was one of the sponsors of hardline. They had BFG logos everywhere on the track and in the broadcast.
Whether or not it's likely, that's what I'd like to see. I feel like he'd fit in really well with that crew.
Dunne testing with an SDU and Boxxer on the bike, no more Fox.
Bernard said in a recent podcast that jack would be his dream signing if he could sign anyone and that he’d make him race downhill again. Jack seems pretty set of focusing on enduro. Bernard also said pivot doesn’t have the money to go out and pay a top rider. They have to get younger folks to develop. All that said think don’t think Moir is a possibility there.
I’m sure in that podcast Kerr said he had signed another top ten rider. Moir didn’t get super money for his canyon deal so the pivot team may well be able to pay him.
He's not going to Pivot.
Never say never. He sure had to pivot when that C'dale deal fell through. KAPOW. IN HURR FOR ALL THE DAD JOKES
I'm 100% confident in saying, never!
What about Charlie Harrison… is he still in the Trek team for 2023?
Hi all, new here but thought I'd finally join Vital and throw my two pence in with something that goes completely against what the rumour mill has been saying for the past few months, BUT... I have it on very good authority that Kolb has re-signed with Atherton, rather than signing with Scott.
I can confirm after speaking with others members of the canyon collective team that Jack Moir ha signed with YT for the next season.
Apparently he will be on a very big wage and on a YT enduro team.
can confirm
Jesse Melamed to Hammer Coffe Roasting (https://hammerroasting.com/)
I'll now be waiting for my 29x2.4 DH casing KO2's
Yes, of course, the only US bike brand is Pivot and to back up your assumption the only reason those greasy Europeans are allowed into the USA is if they ride for an American brand.
I know there's a lot of other US brands lol
I mentioned Pivot for a few reasons. Because they're located in AZ which is pretty close to California relative to Austria. Bernard Kerr mentioned signing a top 10 rider. Because Kolb only really came into his own this past season he may be a bit more cost effective than some other riders, considering Pivot's maybe smaller budget compared to bigger brands.
Also from Kolb's perspective, he'd maintain suspension and tire sponsors between the two teams, which I imagine would be attractive after this past season's results.
That could have been a possibility, but do you really think that he innocently framed the shot like that with the branches forming an almost-perfect Atherton logo ?
he is on a westcoast vacation during off season, was in hawaii before.
just trying to get some westcoast rinding in, he will stay with atherton.
If Californian brands are on the table... Fox? His current suspension sponsor?
Jack Moir was riding with Dharco gloves in his last video!
Kolb was the hottest property in DH this off season, Athertons would have to of dug deep to sign him up again! Numerous teams were after him.
Not hard when you’ve got a millionaire who co owns the company.
