Pretty good they move away from the bladder style damper. I hated losing all the damping due too a ruptured bladder in my charger

Too bad coils are stroke specific with the new hbo, i know a lot of people buying 60 stroke and cutting the spacers to use full 65 because stock was nearly impossible to find or they bought the wrong shock

Yea that's super unfortunate. Tbh, I ready enjoy Fox's stroke spacers on their coils to adjusted the stroke. Unsure why anyone's using anything else, takes 10 minutes to adjust and makes for less sku's but I guess with the HBO maybe it wouldn't fly

Air shocks are stroke specific too. Or at least you need to change the needle to fit the new stroke.
It is unfortunate to some extent, it does create more SKUs, but it's the name of the game.
The needle (for air shocks, the damper body for the coils, so swap that around below) is x mm long and engages y mm off the top. The same y for a 57,5 mm and for a 65 mm stroke shock. If we say the last 5 mm of the stroke are HBOd (didn't look at any numbers, so guestimating here), keeping the same needle in the above move would mean 12,5 mm of stroke would be overdamped on a 65 mm shock, which is almost 20 % (vs. the 8 % at 57,5 mm).
While unfortunate, as I mentioned, on the other hand, how often is the stroke changed on shocks in the real world? Honestly I don't think it's that big of an issue from an SKU standpoint... I think it would be much more beneficial to be able to buy different damper tunes or at least original shims aftermarket than have a single SKU covering all the strokes.
You guys are right- the HBO features on both air and coil make it difficult to change stroke length.
The coil especially can get into a situation where you have metal-on-metal contact if you took a 57.5 shock and cut the reducers out to make it go to 65 stroke. Basically to have all the shocks get the last 20% of stroke have HBO you need to lengthen internal parts as a 57.5 shock stops 7.5mm further apart than a 65 stroke shock.
If you did the same to the air shock it would have the HBO active for way more than the last 20% of stroke and sag graphics would be off.
So HBO is active in the last 20 % of the stroke, confirmed? Or is it just an example?
Sag graphics are off in the current generation if you change the stroke anyway, so anyone prepared to do that wouldn't (shouldn't) care too much about that...

That might be interesting at least. Maybe I'm the odd one out, but I loved the OG LG1 for going down, I found it held off camber lines like nothing else I've ridden before or since, especially in the wet. That being said it rolled like it had wet glue on it if you weren't at sendy speeds and climbed like a tractor with a blown head gasket.

My thoughts were similar, the area around the rear axle looks fairly solid, thought about the rocker looking similar to a giant and given the lower leg position, we do not see if there's a vertical brace and another short link in there.
Looks like the new Allied Cycleworks XC bike out in the wild. Suspension appears to have a seat-tube mounted link driving the shock, a lá the Cannondale Scalpel. Probably good odds it's a flex-stay, too, but I haven't seen a real side-on picture yet.
Edit: jokes, of course, but good luck finding a spring for your shiny new Super Deluxe Coil. I was told I'd be waiting until October...

In either case, you'll be buying parts and tearing apart the shock to change travel.
However, if you bought an overly long shock and you spaced down the stroke, the worst that would happen is that you've lost the HBO function.
Cable routing and dt kink look very un-Trek like to me too.
