Not sure if this has been posted but got a picture of the bottom of the Brosnan's Boxxer at the US Open. I assume this is what's on the Zebb too.

Not technically a mountain bike tech rumor, but it's very funny to listen to gravel riders insist they aren't just reinventing 1990s mountain bikes and then see product releases like this... https://www.bikeradar.com/news/rockshoxs-rudy-xl-gravel-fork 60mm of travel and clearance for 2.25" tires. This thing would have crushed the NORBA XC circuit. All it's missing is some stanchion boots.

RLS is so effective, that in an independent study, RLS was found to reduce the risk of concussion by 4x on average compared with conventional helmets*** Yet the study linked is 1) Not peer reviewed 2) Not actually published yet 3) Is hugely biased. Quote from the study: "Competing interests: This work was funded by HEXR Ltd. All authors are employees of HEXR Ltd or Dropmatics Ltd, which may benefit from the findings." HEXR is the company behind RLS, so they directly benefit from a study about increased safety from RLS. Also, canyon supplied the helmets for the control group...

X01 Eagle is the bees knees. I ran the same chainring (gx aluminium), cassette (the old 10-50t),shifter and derailleur for 4 and a half seasons on my old bike with only a new X01 chain about every year. The derailleur is still being used on one of the bikes by a friend who bought it off of me. I ran the last chain for 2 seasons (and I started waxing the chain in the same time frame) and just recently gave it to another friend to use it some more as I only measured 0,35 % wear rate on it...

Shimano released a new SPD cleat today. Compared to the 30-year-old SH51 cleats, the new CL-MT0001 cleats feature an additional ramp at the back of the cleat, which Shimano claims improves walkability and functionality—enabling back-to-front and top-down clipping in addition to the traditional front-to-back motion. The new CL-MT0001 cleats are backward compatible with all SPD pedals. If I were asked at the start of the year to guess which longstanding Shimano product would finally see an update in 2025, SPD cleats would not make my first twenty guesses. While 30-year development cycles don't bode well for those holding out for...

Not sure if the embargo ends today anyway, but you can check out the Ripley AF on youtube. Apparently the Eagle 90 spec is 4k USD and the lower tier one 3.4 k or something and geo is shared with the carbon version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqJBjwI8-JE The Vid also has a pic of the Ripmo AF, which looks actually pretty nice in raw alu.

Some more shots from the Fox USD at Leogang: And seems like Specialized is running two different brake discs for the Brembos, the Hope-ish looking one with the round holes and another one with a lot bigger cutouts: There was also this raw alloy shim on the rear axle of Finn Iles' Levo which I have no idea about.

Here's how roller wear manifests as elongation. Though it's perhaps inaccurate this elongation is colloquially referred to as 'stretch'.
