this varies widely based on how dry your climate is. my strategy probably doesn't work for somebody who lives in the PNWet. that said: modern chains come pre-impregnated with grease. you will never get lube back into the places that grease is once it is washed out. so, in order to preserve that grease, I only really lube the rollers, and i really only wipe the chain with a cloth to get dirt off, with maybe a little solvent sprayed only on the cloth to get dirt to break free easier. Actually, I went to the Fox 40 on my enduro rig. A push coil shock and the big fork and I’m still under 30lbs, 29.9 to be exact

The tires I've run front and back in the last 10 years are the DHF, Ardent, WTB Wolverine (not even sure if it's made anymore) and Specalized Purgatory, which has changed a fair amount I think. Of those if I had to choose just one for my trail/all mountain bike it would be the DHF. I too would rotate the front to the back so that the newer tire was up front.

Bored at home... (also a Maxxis fan) Maxxis Minon DHF is the best all round/wet conditions tire that you can run both front and back. Maxxis High Roller 2 is the best dry/desert conditions tire that you can run front and back. To save money I like to rotate tires from the front to the back and put my new tires on the front. Would love to hear you guys tell me how dumb/smart I am.

bigger wheels, more suspension, better geometry & kinematics . Like Big Bird said, most changes from here on out will most likely be dialing in the details. Kinda wish I had kept my 2001 santa cruz bullit with marz super T and romic shock just to do a ride comparison with a modern bike.

or just buy a Patagonia Houdini jacket for $25.00 cheaper that packs just as small and is wind and water resistant. Oh and it goes to a company that does A LOT to preserve our natural resources.

"The acceleration out of corners was the most noticeable feature" As opposed to what? They are existing wheel sizes but achieving noticeable results. That's some top level marketing bullshittin right there, hopefully it get's them a few sales.
