Well done Pivot. Looks like a great all around bike. Also, I really miss South Mountain. One of my favorite places to ride ever.

BB's have already gotten lower and as someone who rides XL, or sometimes now a L, I really don't want the BBs any lower. If anything, custom geo is the future. We all have different preferences regarding bb heigh, cs length, reach, sta, etc. Not really a right or wrong answer. I've tried 170's a couple of times and have...

Because DH was way, way different in the oldschool era, when Nico Vouilloz was around. Racing was less ferocious back then and the competition wasn't even nearly as stiff as in the newschool era. Both Aaron Gwin and Nico Vouilloz won the overall title in UCI DH 5 times - but Gwin did it under much harder competition. That's why I'd say Gwin had greater dominance over the sport in his prime.

A few interesting videos by Vinay Prasad on YT where he goes over two recent studies into long Covid. It turns out long term effects are no different from influenza etc and it's potentially a mental thing. Also don't forget the S1 in the vaccine causes the same symptoms as the disease, but with wider distribution.

I'm assuming the Saint hose is a stronger hose that expands less when under pressure for stronger braking, less sponginess, etc. Shimano uses mineral oil and it looks like TRP does too.

Good question. I assume the feel and consistent bite point. It seems like Neko is trying all kinds of stuff and doesn't have a brake sponsor so I assume there's a good reason. My recollection is that he was running TRP levers and caliper with a saint hose and shimano oil he said for a firmer feel, and then I think he added the XT caliper for more power.

What is the benefit of the TRP lever? Consistent bite point, better modulation...?

So we're concerned about a potential partial ownership by Specialized of PB having an influence on bike reviews, but we also think that some network news sources are clearly carrying water for only one political party while the other network news sources are objective unbiased news sources? I'm not concerned about Specialized owning part of PB (directly or indirectly), but...
While Sorros and team own every other major outlet and shill for the Dems. 99% of politicians are full of sh*t regardless of letter by their name. That said, this isn't Pinkbike, keep that garbage over there. We can all agree Specialized is a shady company and leave it at that

Black Rock and Vanguard basically own everything. And they own each other.

I like permanent numbers, but I come from moto so…. They could just give them the number they finish with this year. Or let them pick, starting with first in points, then second and so on.

Great video. I occasionally watch some moto America and wondered what happened to the whole series. To support UCI WC DH racing I'd guess the best thing to do is watch the videos (both race and all the team content thats put out), buy products from the sponsors (bike or not) and simply write to the sponsors and tell them...
great post, taldfind and weigandt's video was enlightening. i agree with his sentiment about not making big changes quickly. patience and organic (often slow) growth are the only way to succeed long-term. i also agree w/ grambo in being active in watching events and participating via social media where possible. i think there is future stability now. the bright side of any slump discovery or UCI could cause to WC DH is that local/regional racing seems to be doing well. in the US and other countries. DHSE, NW Cup, Eastern States Cup, and now Downhill Rockies are having really good...

A few weeks ago, I watch this video on youtube. While this video is about American Road Motorcycle racing, and is meant for the Motocross/Supercross crowd (for those who don't know, the man in the video, Jason Weigandt, is the announcer for AMA Motocross broadcasts,) I couldn't help but think about WC DH and USA DH. With the changes coming the WC DH there is a ton of uncertainty. Nobody seems to know what is going to really happen, and whether it will be good or bad. Thankfully, Loic Bruni has worked at organizing the riders and forming a...
