Again, it's a 34,9 mm dropper. I checked after my previous comment, the Slash has a 34,9 mm post and OneUp only has one service kit (keys, bushings and collar) regardless of the post diameter. So that's why the collar looks flush, the lower is that much thicker compared to a 31,6 or 30,9 mm post. Which also means the whole lower is thicker, meaning heavier. Very few brands construct a completely different 34,9 mm dropper post, which is understandable, but also sad and a missed opportunity since larger bushings and a larger upper post aren't used as an advantage.

Agreed. I couldn’t care one bit about the “bashing” of previous sponsors. Most people have had a job that didn’t work out well and I don’t think people owe much of anything once a company is no longer signing your checks. But nothing is cool about reckless driving or the use of slurs. I described it as more of a rudder than a tire. Super fun for this bike, and shockingly versatile. I also liked the Rekon, but I tore a hole in the sidewall that couldn't be plugged. Either one is a good fit for this bike.

I think there is value to swapping tires to minimize differences, but it doesn't really suit what we're trying to do for these comparisons. The whole world knows that the DHF is great, so another review confirming that isn't really pushing the industry forward in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised by the Dissector / Rekon combination on the Spur. I'd run that setup again for sure.

I can't see why you'd want to eliminate the hanger. It's designed to be a low-cost part to fail before the derailleur. I think PB and others just like the idea of being able to easily get replacements anywhere, rather than every bike having it's own special hanger.

Here's a thought: don't rotate your tires. I used to do this, too, but then I realized my front tires lasted 2-3 times longer than rear tires. Now I replace rear tires when they're worn, and typically my front tire looks fine. As a bonus, this allows me to buy a harder compound/longer lasting rear tire. Right now I'm running a hard compound (Maxxis call it "dual compound") folding bead 2.5" DHF with a downhill casing in the rear, and it's a dream. Super stable in turns, durable in rocks, brakes good with its full center tread, but it rolls...
